That’s me (somewhat incognito) doing a shot of Jack with Mike Hargrove and Chuck Nagy at a friend’s wedding (they were slow drinkers). Later in the evening, I had a 15 minute conversation with Eric Wedge regarding the hit and run, accosted a terrified Pat Tabler at a urinal and reminded him that he has the highest batting average with the bases loaded in MLB history, and finished the night with a stirring karaoke rendition of “Sweet Caroline” alongside Charlie. Best night of my life? Apparently – I remember none of it…
A die hard fan of all Cleveland sports since my dad bought me first pack of 1986 Fleer cards at Saywell’s in Hudson (Tabler’s card was, ironically, included), I join TCF’s writing staff with great excitement, hoping to bring round wond’rous tales of times present and past, where names such as Brad Komminsk, Winston Bennett, Carlos Martinez and Dave Puzzuoli still hold power…
Albeit my first foray into internet journalism, I did have a secondary major in the subject from the esteemed Miami University (I own a customized Szczerbiak Cavs jersey – and did not need to look up the spelling of his name to order it) and did win a “Second Prize, Nonfiction” award in 10th grade for an essay I did comparing Casey at the Bat to Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar… I was also a 5-time all star pitcher in Little League, and thoroughly enjoy using ellipses… Obviously, you’re in good hands…
