2009 State Championship Games Dec 4th & 5th

All twelve teams involved in this weekend’s state championship games have agreed to wear “KW32” helmet stickers to honor the (Medina) Highland Hornets player Kory Wiita. These stickers simply reflect Kory’s initials and jersey number, but stand for so much more when it comes to these games this weekend. Kory is the 17-year-old senior (Medina) Highland Hornets player that was severely injured on senior night in the last regular season game of this year. On a tackle in the third quarter special team’s play, Kory fractured three levels of his cervical spine and is currently paralyzed from the chest down.

Thoughts and well wishes to Team Wiita. Nice to see all 12 teams get on board and show support. Dudes here with Twitter or Faceboook could do far worse than post a link to that site.

Been on vacation since Thanksgiving. Great food and family that day, big wedding Friday, killed a really nice buck on Monday and wrap it all up this weekend with some late morning championship high school football and games throughout the weekend.

While I make some venison summer sausage and jerky, etc.

Love March Madness for hoops and the start of baseball, but this weekend and time of year is slightly ahead of it for me.

Mooney dominating DeSales at the half, 21-0.

Play by Mooney's punter was huge or this could be a 7-7 game at half.

With that said, I don't see DeSales making much of a threat in the 2nd half. Mooney is too stout up front on O and D lines for them.

Also, two things on Braylon Heard: 1) how was he not Mr Football and 2) how did OSU let him get away. Dude is amazing and could've been a Teddy Ginn/Chris Gamble type recruit.

Today he has about 170 yards rushing, couple of rushing TDs, a TD pass and an interception. He's having a nice month this afternoon in a state title game.

35-0 with 6 minutes left.

Ursuline vs. Coldwater should be more interesting and back and forth than the Mooney/DeSales game. Their championship game in 2000 was a classic. Coldwater will give them a stiff test, but I think the Irish will make it 2 for 2 for the Ytown parochials this afternoon. I'm excited to see Coldwater's QB though...he'll give Ursuline some problems.

Ursuline just owned and dominated the 4th quarter. Close game heading into it and then Coldwater got sucker punched right in the back of the head.

Back-to-back for the Irish.

Big day in Y Town.

Great 99-yard drive in the 4th to win their first state title.

Great finish. 99 yards in front of them with 3 minutes left. Can't believe they didn't roll that kid out on the goal line so he could throw the ball away and have another play though. Big gamble.

4th and 3 pass from midfield gets 35 yards. Season on the line that entire drive.

Onto the Big School final.

If Tedd Ginn Sr isn't the worst HS coach I don't know who could be.

Dude is a jackass beyond belief, and I personally am good with it.

Congrats to the state champs, especially considering they played 1946 Cleveland Browns football in 2009.

Still way better and more effective than playing 2009 Cleveland Browns football in 2009.

Oh, look at this pussy crying cause they lost: ;-) ;)

In fact, go here and there's a whole slide show of pussies and babies crying about a loss: http://highschoolsports.cleveland.com/n ... all-final/ :hide:

You can criticize Ginn but if they had guys who could catch the ball at the end of the game, it was over. The QB is a player.

Bottom line, thought having all the finals on STO went very well and it was a good time watching those games.

Well done.
