Cleveland State men's basketball coach Gary Waters announced on Wednesday that freshmen point guard Sebastian Douglas is most likely out for the entire 2010-11 season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a charity basketball game this summer.
The 6-foot-4 Douglas from Houston Bellaire, tore his ACL in a charity game to raise money for the family of his former Bellaire teammate Tobi Oyedeji, who died in a car crash on prom night.
"Sebastian Douglas will not play this year at this moment," said Waters. "Doctors are telling me that he will be back here in December ready to go. But I'm not going to rush him.
"Now we are going to bring him here slowly and hope everything will workout for the best."
Waters said Anthony Wells will back-up Norris Cole at the point and Jeremy Montgomery could also see some time at the one.
Douglas, who Waters considers to be his "most heralded" incoming freshmen this season, averaged 14 points, 6.1 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals as a senior at Bellaire.
