It is billed as "Too Close to Call" That is the perfect name for this rematch. Saturday from the MGM in Las Vegas Marco Antonio Barrera will once again take on Rocky Juarez.
The first fight was awesome. I had the honor to be there and I sure wasn't let down. These two warriors went toe to toe for the full 12 rounds. It was so close the judges couldn't even get their scoring correct. The fight was announced in the ring as a draw, the same outcome I had. However, 30 minutes later it was realized one judges scorecard was added up wrong and the decision was given to Barrera.
When a great fight ends like that there is only one possible thing to do. Get it on again.
Come Saturday, fight fans will be given what they deserve an excellent rematch.
Marco Antonio Barrera is a legend of the sport. There is no doubting that. Rocky Juarez is an up and coming superstar. Both guys seem to be two of the classiest in the sport today. There has been no thrash talking from the time the first fight ended and still up to now.
These guys know they can just settle everything in the squared circle. Rather than starting with Round 1 they should start with Round 13. The prequal was a classic and I doubt the rematch will be any different.
Will Juarez be more prepared this time around after taking the first fight on a short notice? Has the hundreds and hundreds of rounds caught up with Bareera like we have seen with other top notch fighters recently?
The only thing I can say is that I sure can't wait to tune it and find out. If you are a semi boxing fan or a true lover of the sweet science, you need to tune in this Saturday night.
I know I will.
