Just last month, Koscheck won a hard fought three round decision over Chris Lytle. He looked dominant yet again and continues to get better every time he steps into the octagon. I recently had the opportunity to talk with the 170 pound standout.
SS: Josh, thanks for taking the time to speak with me. I know you just had a fight last month, but any idea of when that next fight will be?
Kos: No clue yet. Right now I'm just training and doing my thing.
SS: Is there anyone out there you'd like to get in the cage with next?Kos: At this point in my career, I really don't care. I want to fight the best guys, whoever they tell me. I'll get in there, beat them up, and move on to the next guy.
SS: Are you hoping to fight again in 2008?Kos: According to my contract, I have to fight one more time this year.
SS: Many observers feel you are one of the most improved fighters over the last few years, what do you credit that to?
Kos: Well I really haven't been in the sport that long. Three years ago, I was just a wrestler. I train with the best camp at AKA (American Kickboxing Academy) and just continue to get better every day.
SS: Is there any part of you game you feel you need to work on more than anything else?
Kos: Coming from wrestling, I didn't know much about mixed martial arts. I train everything and look to improve in all aspects. My standup, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, muay thai. Everything.
SS: What a typical training camp like for you?Kos: I'm training year round. Five to six days a week. Twice a day. The only thing that really changes is the intensity level when I know I have a fight coming up.
SS: What are some of your outside interests, other than mma?
Kos: I have a few hobbies but right now my focus in on fighting and my clothing line, MarClothing.
SS: Tell our readers how that got started and where we can find your line?Kos: MarClothing.com. As a kid I always dreamt of owning a clothing line. I had that California style but was growing up on the east coast. I want to build a company and a brand, I saw all these people making millions of dollars on mma. I want to be able to give back and be able to sponsor other fighters who deserve it.
SS: That's great stuff, I plan on picking up a shirt myself. Thanks a lot Josh and hopefully we can do it again soon.
Kos: No problem, thanks for the support.
