Fear Not Tribe Fans, Sizemore and Perez are "Ramping Up"
Cheer up, Tribe fans, help is on the way.
Outfielder Grady Sizemore, who has yet to play this season, and relief pitcher Rafael Perez, who hasn't pitched since April 25, are on the on-ramp to joining the club, or something like that.
Perez, who experienced soreness last week during a minor league rehab assignment, threw on Wednesday from 90 feet.
“He felt good, so we’re gonna ramp him up again,” Indians manager Manny Acta told The Beacon Journal. “It’s not going to be a lengthy (build up) since we just shut him down for a few days because he was a little bit sore.”
As for Sizemore, who turned 30 Thursday, he may actually start running when the Tribe comes home on Monday as he continues to recover from a knee injury.
“When we get back, (head trainer) Lonnie (Soloff) said (Sizemore's) going to start ramping it up on the ground,” Acta said.
Truly this is the golden age of being an Indians fan.
