3-star wide receiver Taivon Jacobs has verbally committed to The Ohio State University. Jacobs chose the Buckeyes this morning over offers from the home-state Maryland Terrapins and West Virginia. The high school senior recently ran a 4.35 40-yard dash, adding a speed element that Urban Meyer and the coaching staff is desperately searching for. At 5’10 and 160 pounds, Jacobs will likely need to add some strength at the college level, but his role with the offense could easily be comparable to what Chris Rainey did in Florida’s offense his freshman year. Jacobs is the 15th member of Ohio state’s 2013 recruiting class, but expect the coaches to go after a few more receivers as they look to look to bolster arguably the weakest position group on the depth chart.
