Wire Hitting The Fan Archive ESPN is Suing Ohio State University
Written by Dan Wismar

OSU-FlagESPN is suing Ohio State over the university's refusal to supply certain emails and other records requested by the network under public records laws. It appears ESPN is digging for information that would link Gene Smith or other OSU higher-ups to knowledge of the player violations that the school says was limited to Jim Tressel alone.Specifically, ESPN has requested

All emails related to correspondence between Tressel, Doug Archie, Gordon Gee, Gene Smith and Ted Sarniak in April 2011.....All documents and emails from Jan 1, 2011  between the school and the NCAA related to investigation of Jim Tressel....All documents and emails listing people officially barred from getting game tickets since January of 2007.....All docs/emails between NCAA and Doug Archie related to ANY NCAA violations including secondary violations since Jan 1, 2005

The PD covers the story here. The WYNY blog has a pretty good summary of the issues and ramifications. Buckeye Battle cry has more here.
