Presidents and Chancellors of the 12 Big Ten school approved a proposal for Indianapolis to be the host city for the conferences football championship game from 2012-2015. The championship games will be played in Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.

Lucas Oil Stadium was already the destination for the Big Ten’s 2011 football championship game -- which will take place on December 3 in prime time. The winner of the conferences first football championship game will feature the winners of the “Legends” division and the “Leaders” division, with the winner earning a spot in either the Rose Bowl or the National Championship Game.

The Presidents also announced that Indianapolis will be the host city for the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments in 2012, 2014 and 2016. The tournaments will be held in Conseco Fieldhouse, no different than the last four Big Ten Basketball tournaments. In 2013 and 2015, the Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held in Chicago at the United Center -- which last hosted the Big Ten Tourney in 1998.
