Ohio State to Play Duke in Big Ten/ACC Challenge
Ohio State announced its pairing in the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge this afternoon -- an exciting matchup that will likely see two of the top five teams in the country face off against each other when Duke travels to Columbus to play the Buckeyes. The two teams will tip off in Value City Arena on Tuesday, November 29.
The Buckeyes have won three straight games over ACC opponents in the challenge, two of which came against Florida State with the third coming against Miami in 2008. But this year’s game against Duke will be much tougher as the Blue Devils are consistently one of the top teams in the country.
"It is a great honor to be selected to play what I consider one of the premier programs in the county in Duke University," Ohio State coach That Matta said. "I have great respect for Coach Krzyzewski and his many accomplishments. I'm looking forward to our fans being a part of such a great game here is Columbus."
The Buckeyes have only played Duke five times, holding a 2-3 record against the Blue Devils. The most recent matchup was in 2002 when Duke crushed the Buckeyes 91-76 in Durham.
The Ohio State - Duke game headlines the two-day challenge that has some excellent matchups between the ACC and the Big Ten. Wisconsin will travel south to play what could be the top team in the country in North Carolina, and Florida State will head north to face off against Michigan State.
