Wire Hitting The Fan Archive Browns 2011 Preseason Opponents Announced
Written by David Regimbal

altIt's still unknown whether the NFL can resolve its current labor dispute before the 2011 season starts, but that’s not stopping the schedule makers from doing their jobs. Cleveland’s four preseason opponents were announced yesterday afternoon, creating the first “Browns related news” that doesn’t involve the words mockdraft, prospects, or Mel Kiper’s hair in months.

The Cleveland Browns will play the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears this preseason. The matchups and venues have been set -- only the exact date and time are to be determined.

The Browns will host the reigning Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers at some point between August 11 and 15. The following week (between the 18th and the 22nd), the Browns will stay home to play the Detroit Lions. Cleveland will then hit the road to play Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles between August 25 and 29. The Browns will wrap up their preseason schedule at Soldier Field against Da Bears on either September 1 or September 2.
