Some of the Heat players have reacted to the tampering probe that has been initiated by Dan Gilbert into the Heat's recruitment of LeBron James. LeBron, not surprisingly, has denied any knowledge of the probe or any wrongdoing on his part of that of the Heat organization. If it were up to ESPN, I'm sure that would be the end of it. Luckily, it's not up to them.
James Jones, the Heat's player's association representative, also denied any knowledge of Gilbert's investigation. He did, however, give it the Bobby Brown seal of approval saying:
"He's a free citizen and it's his prerogative to do what he feels he wants to do."
The most well reasoned response came from none other than former Cav Zydrunas Ilgauskas:
"That's chasing ghosts right there. Let bygones be bygones. There are more important thing in life: people dying from cancer every day, kids dying every day, people having HIV, people fighting wars. There are more important things than the Miami Heat going back to Cleveland. Let's put life in perspective, it's just a basketball game."
So there you go. It's not that Z thinks Gilbert shouldn't be investigating possible tampering and collusion playing a part in the reported $100 million drop in value his franchise took . It's just that he thinks before Gilbert cares about that measly amount of money he should cure cancer and HIV, end all war, and prevent any more kids from ever dying.
So, you better get crackin' on that Dan. Until then...you know...bygones.
