Roy says: "As I read about this today, I was struck by the absurdity of this entire situation. We have dueling courts, egos, and the welfare of the kids at stake. Simply put, OHSAA is the governing body for HS sports in Ohio. It's their playoffs, their system, and their rules that set up the playoff system. They should be the ruling body and the courts should butt out."

Thomas Moore says: "I would definitely want Weiner in my corner if I was a player, but even he has to realize how ridiculous he sounds. By his logic if I get mad at my computer at work and smash it against the wall and a piece breaks off and hurts me, it is a "work-related" injury. It will be interesting to see how hard the Indians want to push this if the union fights back."

Nino Colla says: "It is very comical that Weiner is using this defense. But of course he is representing the player, so he has to defend him. Work-related injury though? That's just rubbish. Sure it's work related, but one that he certainly is able to control. It's temper-related and I'd say that overrides any sort of work-relation."

"speed" is just a lazy excuse used by people looking for a reason why the sec consistently dominates their competition. after all, it looked like michigan had plenty of speed but still managed to suck rocks. and anybody who argues that ohio state does not have good team speed does not watch much football or is severely mentally challenged. now somebody will have to come up with another reason why the sec has won five straight national championships with four different teams and six of the last eight. by way of comparison, the big televewelve has won three national championships since 1970."

Andrew Clayman says: "Main difference with Art's just seems to be gutting and re-aligning the seats and getting rid of those pesky posts. I always felt like it would have been cool to keep a segment of the original stadium standing, like Gate A, and build the new CBS around it. It would have given the new stadium at least a tiny shred of character. Right now, it's gotta be one of the dullest stadiums in the NFL. Nice, but dull. Then again, can't blame 'em. Like you said, it's only used 10 days a year. Even when they added the Ring of Honor and "Legends" area this year, I talked to four different stadium employees who had no idea where the Legends exhibit actually was. Well run organization."

Paul Cousineau says: "First, I think you have to make sure Grady's healthy, but I think that the idea that Brantley's ready for the top is premature. His OBP was .296 last year and even in his last stint (after the 2 demotions/promotions), he merely posted a .332 OBP. If .330 is about average, I'm not ready to put Brantley up there until he can show that his MiLB ability to get on base translates to the parent club. Grady's done that and, assuming some level of health, he's one of the best hitters on this team still. I suppose mine would look something like this: Sizemore Asdrubal Choo Santana Hafner LaPorta Nix Donald Brantley Truthfully, I prefer Phelps (a Switch hitter) over Nix (even if it isn't going to happen) but I'd keep Grady at the top and Brantley at the bottom. I suppose it's only once a game that it matters as Brantley would be hitting before those guys, but that's how I'd pull it off."

Dan Wismar says: "Paul...been playing with Tribe lineup in my head (it's a long slow Cleveland sports winter) and wondering why Grady needs to be at "the top" of it. Assuming Brantley and Choo are also near the top, Grady gives us a lot of lefties bunched together (with switchers A-Cab and Santana also in there and Hafner somewhere in the top six?) Do you drop Brantley down from his logical leadoff spot in order to get Grady into the top 3 hitters...I assume you want Choo and Santana to hit 3-4, and might want A-Cab to hit second if only to break up the lefties near the top. Your thoughts?"

Sam Ingersoll says: "I'd bet on Baltimore or Dallas. In addition to moving to Dallas, and as stated on his new website www.PhilDawsonEdge.com, Phil Dawson has also started a new kicking coaching business to help high school and college kickers become the kind of clutch kicker and team leader he has been. We wish him well wherever he is but he's way underpaid for a kicker of his caliber and the time seems right to move on and get his shot at a SuperBowl. Let's hope it's NOT with Pittsburgh!!!!"

Greg Popelka says: "For selfish reasons, this is a drag. My company conducts business with a guy in Kinston, and he took me to a game a couple yrs ago. He's a friendly, older guy who was one of a bunch of people who each put up a couple thou to own the team a few yrs ago. He had some stories about the old days when Kinston was a Yankee, then Pirate affiliate. Has memories of a lot of legendary Yankees staying with his grandparents (before the days of teams staying at hotels). I still sport the K-Tribe gear he gave me. I know we saw Frank Herrmann pitch at that game I saw. Saw some guys like Beau Mills who I'd heard of. I came away most impressed with little Luis Perdomo, who sometimes made a quick, imaginary circle with his hand in his glove, from his belt to his cap and back. Don't know what he was trying to accomplish, but it was pretty funny. Like he was warding off spirits or something."

Paul Cousineau says: "It never ceases to amaze me how good he is in comparison to anything else out there. There must be thousands of Feller pieces out there in the last 24 hours, from all over the nation with old sportswriters churning out what they think is the definitive memory piece on Feller. Truth is, you read Posnanski on a topic like Feller (or really anything else) and you feel satisfied."

Michael Kramer says: "If something doesn't make sense it's probably bullshit. And this explanation doesn't make a damn bit of sense. Has anyone looked at the tape to see if Carroll went out of bounds right there a time or two earlier in the game? Because that's the only way I'll buy the teh Jets player wasn't in on it."

Akron to Play for NCAA Men’s Soccer Title Tomorrow

Nino Colla says: "Akron has been waiting an entire year to get back to this point after last year's heart break. Not sure a single member of that team will accept anything less a championship and hopefully they'll play that way. The team learned last year that records mean nothing and after the way Michigan played on Friday, past performances mean nothing. This is going to be a battle but hopefully our boys bring home the title we've been craving."
