Mansfield LucasHeading into this season, I was with the majority of Browns fans in my belief that the defense was going to be pretty good ... and that the offense would continue to struggle.  Well, here we are, seven weeks in, and the Browns are the 1998 Rams recreated.  And the defense stinks to the high heavens.  In his latest, Mansfield Lucas tries to decipher for us exactly what is wrong with the defense.  And if they stand a chance of getting any better as we head into the holidays.

Hiko checks in with the bye week edition of The Browns Outsider, and this week he talks about the nice problem of having two young quarterbacks with some market value across the league.  Hiko also peeks ahead to this weekend's game at 0-7 St. Louis, and admits to being scared by this game, even though the Rams don't really give him any reason to be.  Hiko also says that meaningful December football could be in the offing ... but it all comes down to the team's defensive line.
