While the Browns are contending for a playoff spot this season, next year is when Browns fans should be able to enjoy true contention and the team should be poised to go deep in the playoffs. And the team has a key decision to make at a crucial position .... running back. With Jamal Lewis on a one year deal, no clear cut backup waiting in the wings, and no first round pick ... the Browns are going to have a tough call on what to do with J-Lew.

It was a brutally tough loss this past Sunday, and not suprisingly, Mitch is in rare form this week.  After giving out props to Cribbs and the offensive line, Mitch proceeds to use his Random Thoughts column this week to lob SCUD's at E$PN, Toothlessburger, Derek Anderson's play in the second half, Romeo's coaching gaffe ... and "Kosovo-on-the-Chesapeake" (aka Baltimore).  As always, an entertaining read from a hysterical writer .. and one of the more popular columns we run all week.

Erik Cassano is up in arms after Sunday's loss to the Stoolers, and for good reason.  It was a colossal blown opportunity for a Browns team that shot out of the gates and led this game 21-6.  Erik atrributes the loss to four main areas: the second-half play of Derek Anderson, the failure of Jamal Lewis to show up as a feature back, the cushy-soft interior of the Browns defense and one famously-bad replay challenge sequence that cost the Browns two time outs.  And he hits on them all in his latest.

Brutal weekend for Cleveland sports fans.  The Buckeyes fell 28-21 on Saturday to Illinois, ending their unbeaten season and trainwrecking their national championship aspirations.  Then, just as the wounds were starting to mend, the Steelers raced back from a 21-9 deficit to defeat the Browns 31-28 in Yinzer Land.  Suffice it to say ... my two and a half year old learned a couple new words this weekend.  Brian McPeek relives the weekend that was in Cleveland sports.
