As bad as this season has been for the Browns, it's been even worse for Tampa Bay. The Bucs are 3-11, have lost four games in a row and seven out of their last eight. Whatever you think of Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson, they both still have their spleens. On this Christmas Eve morning, before he heads down to the Stadium ... The Rhino previews todays game and conjures up memories of the Browns first NFL Championship, which they won on December 24, 1950.

John HnatIn a response to Joel Witmer's column from this morning, John Hnat says that drafting high doesn't guarantee squat. And that high draft picks tend to not lead their teams to the Promised Land, and they chew up a lot of the salary cap in the process. Are the Browns better off at #11, than say #4? John makes a compelling argument that they may be.

The Rhino gets loose today, scoffing at the notion that the Browns have another QB controversy on their hands. He says this isn't a controversy, it's just the latest sideshow to distract fans from the real problem that's confronted the team for the past eight seasons--the lack of a legitimate offensive line. Until they address that problem, the outcome of this latest tempest in a teapot won't matter a damn.
