A Legendary Lineman
Believe it or not, there was a time when Cleveland Browns offensive linemen were known for being more than swinging saloon doors to the backfield. Long before LeCharles Bentley blew out his knee on the first contact drill of training camp, long before the team bought Joe Andruzzi and Cosey Coleman based on their Super Bowl name recognition and not their actual ability, long before Ross Verba tried to make his life into a movie ("North Dallas Forty" ... or was that "Debbie Does Dallas"?), there was Gene Hickerson. And in a move that was long overdue, Hickerson was elected to the Hall of Fame yesterday. Papa Cass touches on this Browns legend in this Super Bowl Sunday piece.

The Curse Of Inexperience
Phenomenal column from Papa Cass here today. In it, he takes a closer look at Cleveland's triumverate of head coaches: Romeo Crennel, Mike Brown, and Eric Wedge. The three men have one thing in common - this is the first head coaching gig for each of them. All three men are learning on the job, and are struggling with pushing the psychological buttons necessary to take things to the next level ... a practice that can only perfected with the experience they lack.

No column generates more feedback than Moot Points, quickly becoming one of the more popular columns here on the website. This week, Hiko hits on Super Bowl XLI hype, Brady Quinn and JaMarcus Russell, the Cavs, Serena Williams' booty, quitting smoking, and divorce proceedings. Not for the easily offended.

"PHIL!!!! What The F@*#?!?!"
Back, back, back ... GONE!!! Mansfield Lucas leaves the yard this Sunday afternoon with an EPIC rant on the Browns coaching staff shenanigans of this off-season. The Browns have brought back the limited and lame duck Romeo Crennel, lost their best assistants (Jerry Rosburg and Jeff Davidson), and assembled a patchwork network of no name assistant coaches to surround the embattled Crennel in his third year at the helm. And Mansfield is pissed off. A hard hitting and sobering column.
