It was business as usual on Saturday night for two of the top fighters in the world. In boxing, Joe Calzaghe stayed undefeated by gutting out a split decision win over the hard to watch Bernard Hopkins. In MMA, Georges St. Pierre avenged his upset loss to Matt Serra by punishing him for two rounds before an adoring crowd of hometown fans in Montreal, Canada. Our resident fight doctor recaps the fights.

We've got another great fight tonight on HBO as Bernard Hopkins and Joe Calzaghe meet for the light heavweight title tonight in Vegas. Calzaghe, part of the British boxing resurgence, is coming off three very impressive wins over highly regarded American fighters and is unbeaten at 44-0. He fights for the first time tonight in the US against Hopkins, and the war of words in this one has been fierce. My cuz previews tonights big scrap.

Montreal, Canada welcomes UFC 83 tonight and will be rocking as they cheer for native son Georges St. Pierre to avenge one of the biggest upsets in MMA history when he fights Matt Serra in tonight's main event. The card also features a couple of once highly regarded fighters coming off bad losses. My cousin previews tonights entire card for us.

Last night in Atlantic City we saw two excellent fighters. Two of the best welterweights in the world were on display. The only negative thing about that was that they weren't facing each other. Miguel Cotto was the headliner and showed everyone watching why he is considered the biggest threat to pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. Antonio Margarito was equally as impressive in laying waste to Kermit Cintron. My cuz recaps the card.

HBO boxing has a great doubleheader on tap for boxing fans tonight. There are two excellent welterweight showdowns, one featuring the number two pound for pound fighter in the world, Miguel Cotto, defending his belts against Alfonso Gomez. And the first fight is likely to be better than the main event. Antonio Margarito takes on Kermit Cintron in a rematch of the only blemish on Cintron's record. The winner is likely to be next for Cotto. My cuz previews the fights for us.

Teddy Atlas is one of the best known personalities in the world of boxing. 17 champions have been crowned with Teddy as their trainer. Currently the lead commentator on ESPN's Friday Night Fights, my cousin (who continues to land big interview after big interview) recently had a chance to catch up with him and discuss "The Sweet Science."

Last night the UFC brought its show to Colorado for UFC Fight Night, and one of the better cards assembled in some time lived up to the hype and more. The event produced several excellent fights featuring many of the true up and comers in the sport ... and the main event between Kenny Florian and Joe Lauzon was excellent. Scott Swerbinsky recaps the event for us.

The Ultimate Fighter reality show begins its seventh season tonight, and there's no question that this show has helped mixed martial arts evolve into one of the fasting growing sports in the world today. Before the season starts, the UFC has a little added bonus for fight fans tonight, as they're showing UFC Fight Night on Spike at 7 PM before it starts. The card is loaded with former Ultimate Fighter greats and has an excellent main event. And my cousin previews it for us this morning.

At 15-3 early into his MMA career, Joe Lauzon is about to headline his first UFC card at the ripe young age of 23 years old this weekend and is one of the sports rising stars. As he prepares for this Saturday's fight with Kenny Florian, Joe was the latest star fighter to take some time out to talk to our resident fight doctor Scott Swerbinsky.

Tommy Speer was considered to be a sleeper on season 6 of The Ultimate Fighter reality show. He lived up to expectations and then some. "The Farmboy" made it to the finals and eventually lost to Mac Danzig. Next up for Speer is a fight on April 2nd's Ultimate Fight Night card where he'll step into the octagon with Anthony Johnson. My cuz recently had the chance to catch up with Tommy and discuss the upcoming fight and a few other things.

Once again Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez put on a boxing show. Last night in Las Vegas, fight fans were treated to another great slugfest and action filled battle. My cousin's pick for fight of the year in 2008 lived up to the hype. That's saying a lot after their phenomenal first fight back in 2004. The fight went all 12 rounds and Pac Man won a tight split decision. We recap the fight here for you today on TCF.

What a treat for fight fans tonight. Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, finally cueing up the rematch of their thrilling draw from 2004. A fight that saw Pac Man knock down Marquez three times in the first round, then saw Marquez rally back to force a draw in a bloody and controversial war that is considered one of the great fights of the last decade. I've been waiting four years for this one, and my cousin preps us for this absolute must see fight this evening.

Last night in Columbus, Ohio at UFC 82 Anderson Silva left no doubt who the best middleweight fighter in the world is. He also cemented his position atop the pound for pound rankings. Silva choked out Dan Henderson in the second round, and my cousin was cageside to see it ... and says that Silva is simply unbeatable right now. He recaps the main event and the rest of the card for us in his latest.

Tonight. Columbus, Ohio. UFC 82. An event many people (including our own Scott Swerbinsky) are calling one of the greatest cards ever assembled in mixed martial arts history. The main event is a superb one, as Anderson "Spider" Silva takes on Dan "Hollywood" Henderson. Silva, unbeaten, and considered by most to be the top pound for pound fighter in the sport. Just behind him? Henderson, who has never been knocked out in 28 fights. Something's gotta give ...

Luke Cummo was the last fighter picked on Season Two of The Ultimate Fighter. When you look at the guy, you wouldn't think he is a professional mixed martial arts fighter. At first glance he would appear to be a stockbroker, or maybe an accountant. He's on tonight's loaded UFC 82 card in Columbus. And my cousin Scott had a chance to sit down and talk with him this week.

Ed "Short Fuse" Herman is a UFC fighter who starred on season three of The Ultimate Fighter reality show. He was considered to be one of the favorites going in to that season and lived up to the hype. Herman showed the all around skills that it takes to make it in the UFC. Our resident fight doctor Scott Swerbinsky had a chance to talk to him this week about his young career and his upcoming fight at UFC 83.

Last night in New York at Madison Square Garden, the heavyweight division was front and center. The once popular, now much maligned weight class had its first title unification bout in nine years as Wladimir Klitschko stepped into the squared circle with Sultan Ibragimov. The result? A yawner, as Klitschko coasted to an easy win by keeping the overmatched Ibragimov at bay with left jabs. The Spoon Man recaps the borefest for us.
February 23, 2008 - By Scott Swerbinsky
An actually legitimate heavyweight title fight? Huh? Tonight? For free on HBO? That's right. For the first time in what seems like eons, two actual talented heavyweight fighters will enter the ring at Madison Square Garden and unify the belts in boxings most popular division as Wladmir Klitschko and Sultan Ibragimov throw down tonight for the IBF, WBO, and IBO titles. And before the fight, HBO will show the replay of last weekends thrilling win by Kelly Pavlik over Jermain Taylor. The Fight Doctor previews tonights tilt.
February 17, 2008 - By Scott Swerbinsky
Kelly did it again! It was a different type of fight last night, but another great one ... as Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik defeated Jermain Taylor for the second time in four and a half months. Taylor came out sharp, crisp, and determined but it wasn't enough. On a night where both guys came to fight, it was Pavlik who pushed the pace for the entire twelve rounds. He was on the assault all night throwing combinations and landing solid shots. And the Spoon Man tells us about it.
February 16, 2008 - By Scott Swerbinsky
It just doesn't get much better than this. Two big, tough, hard hitting, world class middleweights ... cueing up the rematch of a fight many pundits considered the Fight of the Year in 2007. Can "The Ghost" do it again? Will the fireworks be just as fierce this time around? I cannot wait to find out. The pay per view is ordered. The Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale is on ice. My cuz previews tonights epic rematch.

World Extreme Cagefighting has been on the rise since it was purchased by the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in December of 2006. The talent level has risen so dramatically, most feel it's only a matter of time before the league and it's top champions are folded into the UFC. My cousin Scott had a chance to talk with WEC Lightweight champion "Razor" Rob McCullough on the eve of his title defense against UFC vet Jamie Varner.
February 9, 2008 - By Scott Swerbinsky
Last night on HBO, we got the chance to see two of the so called fastest rising and undefeated stars in the sport. While one young gun was putting on a show, the other's goose egg in the loss column had to go. Our resident fight doctor recaps last nights card, and takes a look at the current state of the welterweight division after last night's fights.
February 9, 2008 - By Scott Swerbinsky
Talk about a great stretch for fight fans. Starting tonight, for the NEXT SEVEN Saturdays, there is an excellent boxing match on HBO, Showtime, or Pay Per View. Marquez/Vasquez III, Pavlik/Taylor II, Kltischko/Ibragomiv, and Marquez/Pacquiao. Are you kidding me? The fun starts tonight when HBO has a great doubleheader, featuring tough fights for two of boxing's young, exciting, and undefeated stars. Paul Williams and Andre Berto. The Fight Dr gets us ready.
February 9, 2008 - By Scott Swerbinsky
There is no doubt that there is a ton of talent left in the sport of boxing. We have one of the biggest and brightest stars in our home state, Kelly Pavlik. One of the most promising young fighters in the world, Andre Berto, will be on display tonight on the undercard of the Paul Williams versus Carlos Quintana HBO card. Berto is currently 20-0 with 17 of those victories by way of knockout, and took some time out to talk to my cousin this week.
