Ready, Set, Go.....
Coming from a Wolverine, we're the football equivalent of a formerly abused wife of a meth addict who just remarried the safe nice guy. We're just glad we have someone who's aware that it's a rivalry and that tackling on defense is integral. Baby steps.

Saine, Marcus Freeman are the unsuspected X Factors. Hartline has a big game. Jenkins takes one from Henne to the hizzy.

Anyone else a bit concerned that Buckeyes players are continously talking about if they "have to go t the Rose Bowl..."

It seems to me that this team could be coming into the game emotionally out of sorts. I really think that this game will come down to whether or not Ohio State can emotionally come back from last week's termination of title hopes. Hopefully Oregon's loss (showing a reason for hope) and the fact that is MICHIGAN will be enough to get them over last week's let down.

We will know early if this team has:
a.) recovered
b.) refocused
or
c.) chosen to pout over last week.

Bingo Furls.

I'm really curious to see how the Buckeyes react to the loss last week. Not only do they have to focus on arch rival scUM, but now have to reshift priorities in the same week and get over the loss last week. Plus, our run defense was exposed last week, and maybe our defense as a whole just had a bad game or was exposed for being over-rated all year. And, on top of that, it is always tough to win on the road in this rivalry. Lots of question marks going into this game.

This is why I am concerned about this game today where if I predicted the outcome, I would say scUM wins 31-27 in a barnburner. Of course, once kickoff starts, I'll believe we win 100-0 because I am a fan.

Furls, come on ... you know JT is going to have this team up for this game.

The Florida loss. Last weeks loss. Big Ten title. Renewed BCS title game hopes. And this Michigan team ... as you like to say ... they're just not very good.

Bucks are going to get it done today.

Yeah, I am not concerned about how good Michigan is,

I am more more concerned about whether Ohio State is entering this game the same way that Michigan entered last year's Rose Bowl, in obvious disappointment, or if the Buckeyes will come out refocused.

As I reread some of my wraps, Ohio State's growing lack of focus (at #1) was pretty apparent. I continously harped about trying to make every tackle a highlight reel shot at the expense of solid play. It was really kind of apparent for about a month.

Last week's defensive play calling was conservative (to say the least) and reprehensible. Combine that with sloppy tackling and well, you have a recipe for disaster. This defense plays much better when it is attacking the line, but the last couple of weeks the playcalling has gotten more and more conservative on the defensive side (think FL last year). This week, with Manningham and Arrington, the Buckeyes actually have a good reason to come out conservative.... that scares me a bit.

In the end, this game will come down to the psyche of Ohio State, one week removed from the driver's seat for a NC game.

Furls, are you backing off of your prediction in your preview? I'm trying to get some input on what people think Beanie will do

Who would you start in fantasy? James Starks (BUF - RB) vs. Bowling Green or Beanie? D-Mac (ARK) and Jarvis from Kent are my 2 for sures. I think

Not backing off the preview at all.

Beanie is going up against the Big Ten's 8th best rush defense, and they have not faced a team that is as efficient at running the ball as Ohio State. It should be a big day for Beanie. I am more concerned about the defense and that could mean more throwing if the Buckeyes get impatient.

If the defense mans up and Tressel is able to play ball control, Beanie should put up BIG numbers.

Wow. It's amazing how JT has turned the tables in this rivalry. I remember waking up in the Coop era and having that gut feeling The Game wasn't gonna go our way. Now we flippin own those Biotches.
