FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth will be reinstated from his suspension for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk.

At his annual Super Bowl-week news conference Friday, Goodell said Stallworth's suspension will be lifted after the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Goodell said he met with Stallworth about a month ago, and the receiver is "in a better place than he was." Goodell said Stallworth recognizes what he did and has prepared himself to return to the NFL.

Stallworth spent 24 days in jail for a DUI manslaughter conviction in the case. The accident occurred last March in South Florida, and he was suspended without pay last August.
"It's all about winning for me, and I think the Cavs are committed to doing that," he said. "But at the same time I've given myself options to this point, and like I said before, me and my team, we have a game plan that we're going to execute, and we'll see what we get."

"We had a great time together."

and then the next news item involving stallworth will be that the browns have cut him so they won't have to pay that roster bonus he would be due come march.

Glad the league lifted the suspension, cause if he had to lift it himself he'd be out 6-10 weeks.

It's a shame he's so brittle, our receiving corp could use him. I wonder why, out of all the positions on a football team, the wide receiver seems to be the most high maintenance?

And out the door he goes. At least they had the courtesy to wait for the end of the suspension first.

So, Is it correct to assume that the Browns will pick up a WR this year either via the draft or free agency?

My money's on David Clowney or Brad Smith showing up in seal brown and burnt orange this next season.
