Grantland has a story about Kipnis.

His production is compared to Utley and Kinsler at similar ages and he holds his own.

I'm starting to get excited for baseball season.

If they can lock in Kip and Justin for the next 3-4 years and have this team including Tito together for that span...whoa dude.

Yes!! Maybe these will be the two guys who actually take less than what they can get to stay here in a city they couldn't care less about!!!

You're right, of course, but Kipnis is ours until at least 2018 I believe. And we have the year to talk extension with Masterson (which apparently they are).

But your point is that none of these guys who are good enough to care about will stay once they hit free agency. And it's tough to argue against that. Basically, we need to get lucky.

Nah. Just have a draft or two where you end up only with guys like Mike Trout, Michael Wacha and Jose Fernandez.
