Chambers/Povetkin Tonight On HBO

Unread postby swerb » Sat Jan 26, 2008 9:47 am

Generally considered to be the two best young heavyweights. Both undefeated. Winner gets Klitschko in the summer after he takes apart Ibragomiv.

Telecast starts at 10 PM.

They are replaying the Jones Tito fight first.
Klitschko will kill both of these guys and I disagree about them being the two best young heavyweights. I've seen them both a few times.

"Fast" Eddie Chambers is good but he's too small for the heavyweight division. I do like him though. He just needs to bulk up somehow of move down a division.

Not too good of a fight.
Chambers is just too small.

The fact Chambers didn't throw a punch over the last 6 rounds wasn't going to help him in a decision either.

He fought the 7-12th like he was feeling out Pvetkin in the first round.

Frustrating to watch. His corner was less than thrilled too.

Yeah, disappointing fight. Povetkin showed some promise, but hard to tell how much against a guy like Chambers. Povetkins big, pretty fluid, and can punch.

Sadly, he'll be Klitschko's stiffest test in a while, but I don't see Wlad having any issues putting him away.

To me Peter is the only guy who can hand with Klitschko.
David Haye is a solid prospect that will probably move up to heavyweight soon and has potential.

This was the first fight I've watched in a while. Povetkin brought his lunchpail to that fight, but none of his shots really seemed to hurt Chambers until the 10th round. I don't know what the hell was wrong with Chambers, but he was terrible in the last 7 rounds.

He's a counterpuncher and not aggressive.
Did I mention he was too small for heavyweight????
