A surprisingly good burger

Found at Giant Eagle's meat department.

We all know that homemade burgers are the best and burgers found at bar & grilles aren't too bad either, but while shopping at GE a couple of weeks ago I stumbled across a nice find.

The pre make some burgers and they spice em up pretty good. They use Black Angus beef for these pre made seasoned burgers and they are very reasonably priced, around $3.29-$3.79lb. They usually sell two per package.

They have the dirty burger (with a little bit of everything), a greek burger (with a slight gyro like taste), bacon & cheddar and a cajun one.

IMO they are great and a good value for those of you in a hurry and not willing to do up your own burgers.

Ground meat, parsley, one egg, 4-5 good blasts of Worchesthire, seasoned italian breadcrumbs, some garlic salt, cracked pepper, and a good meat seasoning.

Lipton onion soup mix works well to.

Black n Blue burger: your pick of ground meat, mix with crumbled blue cheese and then add any blackened seasoning, very good.

Tip: add ice chips to your ground meat, it makes your burgers surprisingly juicier, and never never pat your burgers down.

here's a good topping for your burger or your steak. Got the recipe from The Bourbon House in New Orleans

Andouille Steak Sauce

1 cup Worcestershire
½ cup Crystal Hot Sauce
1 Lemon peeled and cut in half
5 Fresh thyme sprigs
8 Peppercorn
2 Bay leaf
2tbsp Cream
¾ # Butter – cut in cubes
¼ cup Andouille – small diced and rendered

Combine first 6 ingredients in a pot and reduce until thick and syrupy. Addt he cream and reduce again. Slowly whisk in the butter a little at a time, making sure it doesn’t get too hot or too cold. Strain and keep warm. Add andouille.
This recipe yields 2 cups.

I don't like anything on a properly cooked steak but this was out of this world. I've used it on the burgers I've made over the summer and it works just as well

If you ever get to New Orleans you have to go to the Bourbon House. Right in the French Quarter. Great, great food and a killer selection of bourbon.

for a spicy hamburger, I like to add a little some Siracha sauce to my ground meat.

One of my good buddies here at work lives in Ohio City and says the same thing about Hecks. I gotta get there.

I concur on Hecks, and also am a big fan of the bison meat burger at Harry Buffalo.
