So much for Taylor not wanting the rematch.

I really, really hope this takes place at MSG, but if it doesn't Kelly is experienced fighting at MGM too.

Fighting at 166 seems to favor Kelly IMO, especially since neither of them have fought at that weight before and JT doesn't seem to adapt to change very well.

Interesting comments about Kelly fighting BHop this summer in Ytown or Cleveland...that is the first time I've heard his name mentioned and I wondered how long it would take before he projected himself into the mix. I don't care for him that much and really don't want to see that fight occur. His 2 fights vs JT are way overrated IMO.

Money talks. The second ass beating will be even better than the first. Maybe you'll wise up and pick Pavlik this time. :-) :)

No kidding money talks.
Taylor would be pissing away his career if he didn't take the rematch.
I've been saying that since Pavlik put him to sleep.

As far as Hopkins goes, I wish he would just go away. Maybe Kelly will just knock his ass into the retirement home once and for all.
I like the idea of it being at the Browns Stadium.

Sources told the Democrat-Gazette that HBO is holding Feb. 16 for a pay-per-view broadcast for the fight, and that is the most likely date. For that date, the fight would likely be heading to Las Vegas.

Arum told sources that if the fight is Feb. 23, it could be held at Madison Square Garden in New York. But Wladimir Klitschko is likely to make a heavyweight title defense on HBO on Feb. 23, and a Taylor-Pavlik fight on that date is only possible if the Klitschko fight moves.

Atlantic City, N.J., the site of the first fight, is also a possibility.

Contractually, the rematch must take place within 150 days of the first fight, making March 1 the deadline.

If Kelly/JT go at it again on 2/16 then Klitschko/Peter? on 2/23 we could be in for a pretty exciting February.

FightDr-My cousin is competing in a mixed MMA/Boxing show in the YTown area this Saturday at Yankee Lake Ballroom...boxing card first then the MMA bouts. My question to you is do you think this type of event has any chance of catching on nationally? I know that two fan bases are not homogenous, but it would be one heck of a way to cross sell your sport...conceptually a combat version of the XGames.

I would love to see it catch on but doubt it will.
Too much BS that goes along with boxing.

Good column on the Taylor/Manny Steward break up, with several quotes from Steward, as well as some stuff on the Pavlik fight and a good analysis of what has happened to the once extremely promising career of Taylor, who was near the top of all pound for pound lists a couple years ago.

I'm pretty soured on Pavlik right now.
I had a chance to meet both him and his dad back on November 19th in Youngstown for "The Night of Champions" banquet.
They both agreed to an interview for our site and Mr Pavlik and I exchanged numbers.
After a few phone calls to Mr Pavlik he gave me Kelly's cell and said he has no problem doing the interview.
A month has gone by, a few left messages and no returned call.
I know he's training and getting ready for the rematch but he seemed like a standup guy and you hear how he's still the same dude.
I just wanted to relay this info as I was planning on doing an interview with him and looks like it won't happen.

Hes just trying to lull you into predicting another Taylor KO.

We're less than a week away and not too much talk about Taylor.
Pavlik is everywhere, a good read in SI on him.
Nobody on here talking either?
That surprises me.
