This could be brutal, especially given how our first three road games have gone.

I just want to see good individual and team performances. Too many in the squad have had an iffy start to the year.

Mike Brown may be good at coaching defense, but my God is he awful at offense. I'm not sure they've even practiced running the basic play sets other than the pick and roll up top.

Awful second quarter

Some of these offensive possessions are comically bad. It doesn't look like anyone knows what they are supposed to be doing

Im pretty sure they don't know what they are doing. IIRC Brown devoted 0% of pre-season to offense. Jack was quoted as saying, "there are no plays called, we just have to improvise."

Brilliant.

Yahoos in the media -- including those homers on television -- are continually pointing out that the Cavs are 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the league in fewest points allowed per game.

They fail to add that the team is dead last in scoring points per game, 88.67.

Hey, this team has scorers. But there is no offensive style, philosophy or plan yet. Roker reaps what he sows.

It's not quite John Lucas going 4 years without running an inbounds play, but it's pretty brutal.

And I understand it's early and we can hope the end game offense looks like there is some sort of plan, but right now it's wire to wire.

The one time tonight they rushed to get a fast break bucket was an instance where they coulda held it for the last shot.

I just wanted to pass on the statistics update:

Yesterday it was mentioned that there had been 5 games.

That was before it happened that we had another game yesterday so where before there was only 5 we have now added one more so if my math is good we are up to 6 games. Since we had just the 5 until we added the other one yesterday.

We may want to wait until Mother comes by to cross-check those numbers but even if they aren't 100% dead-on accurate they should be pretty close.

Yeah. And tonight will be 7 on the night after 6 so they probably got a shitload of gym time in to fix things. Which is why counting games is just stupid unless you're doing it in quarters of a season.

Offense will come when they're comfortable with each.

The defense needed to be instilled. Even with TBotP the Cavs were a Top10 offense once if I recall correctly.

So why would anyone who knew that think this team's style would be different?

Under brown they were 15th, 19th, 24th, 13th and 9th in the NBA in offense.

In 11/12 under Brown the Lakers were 15th.

It will get better. It will NEVER get great and if history tells us anything it'll likely never be a Top 10 offense.

But to act like the guy doesn't know at all what the other side of the floor looks like is reactionary and somewhat ridiculous IMO.

Well if you were paying attention you'd know I completed the calculations on this nine hours before you in the other thread.
