Feh.

If you saw anything it in 3D Imax it should have been Pacific Rim.

You just want to inspect the plastic woman as closely as possible.

It wasn't in 3D, but I watched Pacific Rim the other night and thought it was a really fun movie. Not some Oscar winning sappy, critic humping drama, awesome popcorn entertainment. It brought me back to when I was a kid and I would flip through the TV Guide looking for Godzilla movies on late at night. The Kaiju were fucking awesome, the Jaegers were badass. GdT has an excellent vision when it comes to crazy monsters and mechanical things. I would have liked to seen the Russian and Chinese Jaegers in action more. The 3 armed buzz saws were sweet.

The cast was pretty good, Charlie Day was really funny.

Yes, watched that Oz movie in 3D and wanted to puke during the first "color" scene. I will skip 3D from now on.

I've only seen one movie there, which was Godzilla with Matthew Broderick. The movie experience kept me from going back - it is now known only as The Theater Where I Had To Watch Godzilla.

I dragged about 8 or 10 of my buddies to that movie. Most never talked to me again.

I know this is true. And I kick myself for missing it.

And I planned on going to see that, but instead of seeing it, I did the opposite. Which was to not go to see it.

GO. SEE. THIS. MOVIE. (3D was a little extra candy but not critical...but see it in 3D) And you want/need to see this on the big screen.

It's so much more than a just a cinematic tech breakthrough. It really is just a great film. There is a scene (not really a spoiler) where she curls up in the fetal position upon making it safely back to the ISS that will be one of the most famous shots in the history of cinema.

This is simply one of the greatest films ever made. Nolan has tried to claim the Kubrick mantle. Alfonso just stole it from him.

/audience of 200 people...you could hear a pin drop except for the whispers of "oh shit" or *gasp. It was stunning.

Her inability to age and plastic construction is truly an amazing thing. It's hard to believe someone can live in stasis like her. It's less aversion and more astonishment. She's like a video game character that also just happens to be a meh actress.

Hate all you want, but she was excellent in a very challenging role. I never really understood the AA for Blind Side, but I wouldn't be surprised if she gets another statue. She will certainly get nominated.

Sorry to interrupt E0y's OCD thread regarding Bullock (did a Sandra look-alike shoot down your pickup line or something?)...but the movie was an absolute experience.

I was at one point laughing at myself after I realized I was dodging space junk flying out at the IMAX screen at me. (My wife just spent almost all of the 90 minute run time squeezing the shit out of the armrest and/or my left arm).

I saw Avengers, both of the last two Dark Knight movies, Star Trek Into Darkness, and the brainless eye-candy Pacific Rim in IMAX. Didn't come close to comparing to this.

Cuaron is a freaking genius. Bullock and Clooney's faces (and bodies) are barely visible 90% of the time in their spacesuits. This film is a visual wonder...not just in the beauty of the shots...but with you sitting there thinking "I wonder how the hell Cuaron was able to create that?".

After what Cuaron did with "Children of Men", I had extremely high expectations of what this movie would be like visually. I evidently set my expectations too low, because this was like nothing else I've seen.

The screenplay has no chance of being nominated for any awards, and there are probably 1,000 actors who could have been just as convincing as Bullock and Clooney.

Didn't matter.

Go ahead and carve the appropriate names on every technical, cinematography, and sound award for next year's Oscar for this one.

I personally haven't seen it although I've heard good things.

I prefer to spend my time watching Lee slip further and further into his bi-polar two-dimensional twitter/tcf worlds.

I think he needs to strongly consider rejoining the work force if he's not yet institutionalized.
