OSU - Wildcats

Unread postby e0y2e3 » Wed Oct 02, 2013 3:46 pm

Whose ready for a shoot out!?!?!

Whose ready for Roby make or breaking his OSU career?!

Mack is back for NW which isn't a good thing for OSU, dude's explosive as hell.

On a side note one of the OZone guys circulated this state this week:

Total yards through the first five games of their freshman seasons:

Dontre Wilson 435

Percy Harvin 228

Ted Ginn Jr. 116

Buckeyes:
tOSU should win easily against the Big MAC and IDC what they are ranked.

Wildcats:
Last week was disappointing with the worst loss margin since 1966, but when you are down to your 3rd string QB making his 2nd start, your 2nd team RB, and your all state LB/DE is out and you play Paramus Catholic (3rd USA Today) it's a bitty. Even tho peppers got dinged and only played D he's a stud. Chico loves him some man coverage and against PC's WR's the kids who somehow manage to keep up with St Ed's and the 'ville's WR's got fried. I think the Wildcats will still end up in the playoffs with maybe 2 more losses but not a banner year. Shame the NJ national matchups didn't happen in 11 or 12 when we were loaded and came on down years. We made Ohio HSFB look punk.

Our Frosh team would still run the IEL or whatever with margins of 20 points.

Guess Iggy couldn't buy enough talent this year.....

So sad....

If only they had a great coach that could overcome talent deficiencies.

2 losses to 2 nationally ranked teams. Quality win over Mentor. Don't cry too hard. I suppose they could always schedule Leetonia.

OSU- 45

NU- 38

I think if the Bucks get out to their normal fast pace and can avoid the sluggish 2nd half, they might roll 'em. Which would look good rankings wise. But we all know Northwestern is a pesky team that can easily confuse this defense, so 60/40 OSU is my conservative opinion.

Cal is a better version (offensively) of NW, but NW has a better running game. I expect to see NW throw more with their running QB and run more with the passing QB to try break up tendencies. NW is not particularly strong on either line, so I expect OSU to dominate them there.

I expect OSU's LBs to look stupid in coverage on several occasions setting up some pretty big plays for NW and really being the only thing that keeps this game competitive for a quarter or so before OSU pulls away. I think this is a big OSU victory against an overrated NW team. 45-21, and we all leave this game with the impression that OSU left alot of points on the field, OW the score would have been in the 50s.

Rain could be an issue here. Depending on the severity. If it is a monsoon, that favors OSU's power running/option game heavily. OSU doesn't need the balance or the space to run as badly as NW. If it is a drizzle, just enough to slow down OSU's speed advantage without destroying the intermediate passing game, then that favors NW, but only enough to make it a 2 TD win.

A couple clever signs from the NU student body, but not enough to matter. 49-28.

Furls, you don't think a slick ball hampers the read option? Braxton's right read rate is about 51% under normal circumstances and I worry about the fumble possibility when he tries to to pull that ball back out.

The center/QB exchange has also been an issue a few times already.

Braxton doesn't give anyways, so there is no exchange.

Yeah I've seen my brother in his fancy USMC dress up outfit or whatever you call it. I never thought to ask to see the sword. You know, inspect it's quality, make sure it's up to snuff for my tax money. Make sure there is no "made in China" stamp.

Do you guys have problems with ABC's HD broadcasts? My is "pixely" and kind of crappy. I have a seriously bad ass TV (1080/240Hz/3D LED) and DirecTV. Whatever it is, I can barely watch the games because of the crappy quality. Anyone else have similar issues?

My TV has "active" 3D (requires batteries in the glasses) and that is WAY better than Passive 3D (cardboard movie theatre glasses). It is cool, but we almost never use it. I dislike it because of the effect it has on color, everything seems "greyer." There is also very limited 3D content. There are like 3 HD channels on DirecTV and 3D blue rays are like 40.00 and I refuse to spend that much on a movie I will watch once.

I'll bet there is something wrong with my local TV satellite dish or something. The 240HZ is bad ass for watching football because I can turn the automotion control (judder control) way up. Makes TV look like spanish soap operas. It is annoying on regular TV but it is FUCKING AMAZING for sports. Watching ESPN TV broadcasts on my TV is ridiculous with Judder control maxed. It looks like someone 5 feet from the game videotaped it with a highend HD DVD recorder, except the motion is perfectly smooth with no motion blur.

Those 7 points fall squarely on Miller who not only made the wrong read (again) on the read option, but did not hold onto the ball.

Seriously, can we please stop running the play? Miller is NOT good at it. He is a great runner, but he is not good at running that play. This is square peg and round hole here. He hasn't figured it out in 2 years, it is unlikely he is going to put it together in the near future.

Ohio State is being thoroughly outcoached on both sides of the ball. PERIOD.

NW is daring OSU to run the ball and OSU has a huge advantage on the LOS.

Meyer's management of the last 3 minutes has been criminal. Fake punt? Why no TO, particularly on 4th down?

What happened to the crisp passing game?

The D is getting picked apart when playing passively.

The secondary, just cannot play well enough to do shit downfield, therefore they have to be more aggressive upfront.

The read option with Braxton Miller is a dumpster fire. He is indecisive and generally wrong in his read. Run him on draws. Hyde runs better on direct run plays.

I will give NW a lot of credit for being well prepared and having a very diverse hard to defend offense.

The end of that second quarter was BUSH LEAGUE. Poor game management.
