Congratulations Tribe on a fantastic season from your harshest critic. I never dreamed that you could win 92 games with this motley assemblage. Maybe next year. Go Browns!

At least we have those hilarious Hopper commercials to laugh at. Someone does need to get the best of their pitcher though. His windup is seriously annoying.

FU Donny. It's looking Clevetard tastic so far but there's almost a third of a game left.

Gotta get Cobb out.

It only a 3 run game.

How big, and how awful was the Dribble Drubsular Double play with the bases jacked?

Worst moment for Cabrera to be at the plate, and he does the single worst thing (a strikeout is better for crying out loud!)..

I feel that was a HUGE momentum swing spot in the game, and once we didn't get that, it was all of a sudden "can't come up with clutch hits with guys on time".

Great run for the season though, this team can sure beat up on the little guys, just need to learn to play with the big boys too.

The worst part is that you just knew it was coming...especially after they said Gomes had hit into 12 and Droobs had 10.

Tough ending....they gave it a go tonight. Bourn, Swisher, Kipnis, Cabrera going 0 for 16 was pretty much the story and it was an 0 for 16 with a small army on base. 6 of those at bats came with 2 or more runners on base. Really nice effort by the bullpen tonight. They're not as good as the team that beat them or the remaining 8 teams in the playoffs.

This game sucked. Missed opportunties, sloppy defense against a good pitching team will not get you far.

That being said, as disappointed as I think we all are, this season was better than most of us could have imagined.

We have an important off-season coming up, (Ubaldo, Kazmir, etc.) but let's hope this is the start of a annual tradition.

Tonight stinks, but it was a good season.

I didn't see the game....where was there sloppy defense other than the Chisenhall error in the 9th which had zero effect on the game outcome??

Pretty content. A lot more than I thought I'd be. Good season. 24 game improvement. A lot of positive things and a lot to look forward to for next year.

More thoughts tomorrow, but I'm not sad. Disappointed maybe. Not sad.

It's baseball, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains. Great effort by the entire org this year. Looking forward to seeing what is in store this offseason with a roster 95% intact and improving.

Now we know next year the division is the real cookie with that 1-and-done crapshoot.

They hit Cobb, just not when they needed it. Zero production from the top of the order and Acab- the guys you need it from most.

That was the difference. Rays hit throughout the lineup.

Better than the 2-160 I predicted, so that's good.

How smart is Tito? If you were with me, you were wondering why he started Lonnie last night. Then he bats 1.000 for the game.

Agree. LOB was story of game.

Did that place go hear-a-pin-drop silent on their home run and when we hit into the DP with the bags juiced?

Their approach was horrible. Cobb couldn't throw his fastball for strikes, yet guys were repeatedly ahead of breaking balls in hitters counts. Not only that, when he did throw fastballs, they were up in the zone and nobody took advantage. Guy throws CH/CU over 56% of the time. Anxious hitting. No patience. That was one of a handful of games where the Indians drew just one walk.

Cobb made pitches and located his breaking stuff, but the Indians made no adjustments. They hit maybe two balls to the opposite field all night. The number of weak rollovers to the pull side was infuriating.

He pitched well, but the Indians didn't adjust well.

Apropos that the season ends with Cabrera/Bourn/Swisher going 0-for-12 with 13 LOB. Those three guys hurt us most of the season and did so again last night. But, for Cabrera and Swisher, those seasons were outliers. I'd expect them to be better next season. Bourn, who knows, he's a below average offensive player in most of his seasons, but I think he's a little better than what he showed this season.

Unbelievable electricity in the stadium last night. The first couple innings when Salazar was dealing with two strikes and blowing by people were insane. I'd say there was more energy to start that game than any game at The Shoe when I was at OSU(2001-2005).

Someone mentioned it above, and yeah, when Drubes hit into that DP it literally took the life out of my section, but also the stadium from my vantage point in 304. Even with the outcome, this season has been special and probably the funnest of my entire adult life including '07. I remember the 90's as a kid, but am more excited for this team going forward. Here's a beautiful picture of The Jake before the game driving in from Ohio City on the Lorain Ave bridge.

I was in 304, too. I thought the section was pretty consistently boisterous for the early parts of the game.

Both Cobb and Salazar were pounding the strike zone early in the counts in the early innings. I wasn't keeping track, but it seemed like Cobb didn't throw a first pitch ball in the first three or so innings. Salazar was the same. However, they both started getting behind in the counts later in the game and it hampered both. Once Salazar started falling behind in counts, it seemed to rattle him and he never got it back. It took Cobb a few more innings for that to happen and he didn't lose his confidence as quickly as Danny did.

There is just no one in our line up that sends fear into pitchers. If this team is going to take the next step, a) the guys that underperformed this year need to get it back (and that's a number of guys), and b) we need a power bat or two. Question is, will ownership be willing to go out and spend for a power bat or two considering we took on some bigger contracts last off-season.

Edit: I think with Tito, some of the vets and with the clubhouse chemistry, Cleveland might be attractive to some players for the first time in a long time.

I love our pitching going forward. A lot of on-the-young-side studs.

Was saying the same thing about Lonnie before the game started, telling a guy next to me that I wish Aviles was at third, and then Chiz goes 3-4. And the place didn't drop silent on the home run, but the DP was like a punch in the gut that still hurts this morning.

Oh well. When I found out Cobb was pitching for the Rays I was afraid that was going t happen. If he hadn't got hurt he would be in the running for the Cy Young this year. I don't know if its his pitches, or that spastic windup that throws batters off.

But it was an exciting season, the Tribe overachieved, and it's clear what they need. POWER and defense on the corners. Shap and Ant, you're on the clock. Get it done.

I was telling my son he was a milder version of Louis Tiant of the Tribe.

I was so disappointed with the manner of this loss. To put up a 21 win September and rattle off 10 straight wins to finish the season (albeit against crap teams) and then to go out with a whimper like that is a bitter pill.

Still, it was an exciting couple of hours

Some laughed at my Cobbphobia...well I told ya

Strange that Chiz and Gomes hammered line drives consistently off him while the guys at the top of the order couldn't buy a loud foul.

I expect Swisher to be better next season because he battled a shoulder injury all year.

Cabrera, OTOH, has declined three years in a row, but next year he'll be in salary drive mode so he could bounce back.

Bourn had a down year -maybe it was the new league. Adam Dunn was awful his first year in the AL before rebounding with a huge year. Even Pujols struggled his first year in the AL.

Yeah, that was an awful exhibition of hitting, starting with Bourn swinging at Cobb's first pitch of the game, a fastball in on his hands which he lofted to short right field. Maybe he knew he needed to hit a fastball, any fastball, because he couldn' hit Cobbs curveball with an oar.

In summary, it was great watching the Tribe with no Johnny Damon, Casey Kotchmann, or Shelly Duncan in the lineup. Too bad Mark Reynolds couldn't have kept hammering all year, but that's just not who he is.
