Trent Richardson is Leroy Hoard....

Unread postby leadpipe » Sun Sep 29, 2013 5:07 pm

...or at least the famous Leroy Hoard quote;

"Need a yard, I'll get you three. Need five yards, I'll get you three."

Weeden to Richardson might have been the dimmest hook-up in NFL history.

That's one of the better, if under appreciated, sports quotes of all time.

Now, it's a bad deal if your QB is dim, but I have to imagine Trent has a shitload of company in that department and I was actually fearful for Willis McGahees ability to function when I heard him speak this week.

These guys really do take too many hits to the head.

At least we got a first rounder for him.

Sure we lost value, but at least we were able to recoup SOMETHING for him.

Don't insult Leroy Hoard with this comparison. Richardson isn't nearly as good a player as Hoard was. Hoard actually did average 4 yards per carry in his 6 yrs with Cleveland and also averaged over 10 yards per reception which is damn good for a running back. Read he's another one having struggles post retirement with depression and memory loss.

Yeah, sucks about Hoard. Loved the way his legs churned all the way through the end of the play.

That is a great quote but according to fmr Browns RB/special teams ace Ron Wolfley, he originally made that comment in a conversation with Hoard. Prior to a future Monday Night Football game, Hoard used that while speaking with John Madden. Madden shared that during the game, and Hoard has owned it ever since.

That was my initial reaction to the subject line, too, but you know, he did in fact type:

"...or at least the famous Leroy Hoard quote"
Q: What is the best/craziest location you've ever gotten lucky A: Mens room. Death Valley. (Fire Marshall Bill, 08/13/10)

...doesn't mean we cannot call you a spade when you are one. (donnyunitas, 10/21/09)

Plus it's kinda personal for me... I have a lot of family and friends who are Ducks... (angrybeaver, 11/08/09)

One thing I loved with the Real Browns alumni was how they identified with the fans.

Sounds like Leroy is living out following the Zombie Browns with the rest of us.
