Lane Kiffin out at USC

Unread postby motherscratcher » Sun Sep 29, 2013 8:36 am

Per sources.

Mostly twitter

It seems like a long long time ago when I thought a young Lane Kiffin was getting the shit end of Al Davis's crazy senility. I actually felt bad for him. Turns out that Al's nutso pressed where he threw Lane under the bus was one last glimpse of rationality.
According to my sources CDT farts in the tub and bites the bubbles.

Yep. Although as opposed to rationality I can't help but think of it more as a Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf kind of thing where both of them are certifiably nuts and screwed up.

Question is; where does he land?

Does he fall all the way down to a MAC level job? Lower?
Become an NFL assistant?

He is young, handsome, has a hot wife. He'll be fine.

I think he's got one more safety net before the MAC. Like a Washington State kind of gig.

Big conference, shitty team.

Then, he'll either go MAC if he loses and is an asshole, or back to bigger job if he wins and is an asshole.

There is one constant in all of that...

OC either at a major college or on an NFL team.

If he can keep his mouth shut long enough to serve in said role.

You want insane? Recruits all over the country are downright excited Kiffin got canned. A top 150 DE from Illinois actually just put USC back on his list because Kiffin is gone.

That isn't something you'll see every day.

Some desperate AD at a shitty SEC football school is getting exctied about bringing Mrs.Kiffin to town.

Maybe Mizzou gets sick of Gary Pinkel excuses and cans him.
"Cocaine is a hell of a drug" - Originated from a famous skit in Dave Chappelle's "Chappelle's Show". The skit would portray Rick James, usually high on cocaine, preforming doing crazy and stupid things, such as smacking Charlie Murphy in the face. Rick James would frequently explain away his actions by saying "Cocaine is a hell of a drug".

The radio mentioned that Kiffin is working with a team with only 56 scholarship players due to Pete Carroll's rule breaking. A-hole or not, it is tough to compete with those limitations.

You forgot rich.

I think the bloom is so far gone off his rose hes gonna have to career rehab outside major conference . Some FCS or titular delusional BCS bottom feeder desperate for a name. Maybe Terry Bowdens been pounding enough Barberton fried chicken & Swensons that job reopened soon. But some jerk water like that or a university with minimally 2 adjectives in its name.

Or Uncle lands him a quality control job.

Or he may be so far gone he's doing Patriot League commentary for NBCSPORTS network.

Probably three, if you consider Nebraska blue chip...which I do.

Hmmmm....

Maybe borderline?

The lack of recruiting base has to make this a challenge.

OTOH, the future Big 10 West looks like the remnants of the Big East.

You're right...it's borderline, and based on little besides ancient history. (As they say...nostalgia ain't what it used to be.)

And recruiting to the Corn Belt is, and will continue to be a nightmare.

It's not a Top 5 job clearly, and maybe not even Top 10, so I guess it depends on how broadly you want to define "blue chip".

Don't tell Tommy Frazier.

NU = the Sillers of the NCAA. Into "supplements" and weight training on a higher level than anyone first. Got enough Texas kids and manufactured their own like Wisky with Devany and Dr. Tom.

I think that ship has sailed but the fan base doesn't get it.

Tough gig.

Yes...Dave Rimington is really old.

The demographics are killing them....also, everyone else has caught onto PED's and weight training.

USC fired him at an airport, while waiting for the team bus. :lmfao:

The only thing worse was Rob Ianello getting fired while driving to his mothers funeral.
