need to win. no excuses. chicago is a last place team simply going through the motions that the end of the season can't get here soon enough for them. the tribe has everything in the world to play for and d@mn well better play with a sense of urgency like it's a one-game playoff for a wildcard spot!!! we can only hope. go tribe!!!

A "half way to St. Patricks Day" promotion is a bit dumb, but I do like the green accents on the White Sox Uni's.

Seems like Asdrubal is still hampered by that hamstring injury (think it was hamstring). I can't help but notice how slow he seems..

Just a note on the Rangers-A's game..... that's the 4th 1-0 loss for Yu Darvish this season (one of which was against the Tribe).... that's crazy!

Great job by Ubaldo with 8.1 scoreless..... the guy's been far and away our most reliable starter in the 2nd half - ERA now down to 3.43 (assuming Lee doesn't let an inherited runner score).

Think Ubaldo might be pitching for a contract.. It's a club/player option after this season. Idk if that means Both club/player have to agree on the option for Ubaldo to pitch for the Tribe next season. If he doesn't agree and is a FA.. think he might be out of the Indians budget. Hope I'm wrong

I think it's technically still a club option for Ubaldo but, because he was traded during the deal, he has the opportunity to void the option - so, it essentially make's it like a mutual option.

I think there's no doubt, with the way he's pitching lately, that he'll void the option and seek a multi-year deal in free agency which, like you said, probably puts him out of the Indians price range.

Even if it doesn't, I can't help but feel that there's too much of a bad taste in the mouth about Ubaldo's time as an Indian as a whole for the Tribe to commit to multi-years on him.

And all of a sudden the Indians are 1.5 games back of the Rays and the Rangers for BOTH Wild Card spots.

Guess what?! Those two teams start a 4 game series against each other in Tampa on Monday - so, one of them will be guaranteed to lose every night.

If the Tribe can keep winning they're in good shape!!
