Lots of empty seats... more so than usual. I would say maybe 6-8 thousand "paid attendance"

Scoreless 1st for Ubaldo.

Would be nice to get a couple early runs off Santana.

I like this Ramirez kid. Wonder if he has anything for power. Kinda reminds me of a young Coco Crisp

Yan Gomes is a baller.

He doesn't have power, per se, but he's a doubles and triples threat. Only 7 HR in 1067 minor league plate appearances, but a .404 SLG because he's got 44 2B and 14 3B. He's a slap/contact guy, so he'll get his share of doubles on shit blooped down the lines and soft liners in the alleys. He'll get triples the rare times he turns on a ball and it goes all the way into the corner or actually lines one up the alley.

Only 21, but you have to like the promise of a kid with a .307 BA and an 84/71 K/BB ratio in over 1000 plate appearances.

41 K to 39 BB at 21 in his first season at the Double-A level. That's impressive. Only hit .272, but the BABIP monster got him. .272 average but .290 BABIP. Got a bit unlucky. It's within range, but since he doesn't hit for power or strikeout much, it should be on the higher end of the league average (.290-.310) or even above it. 38 SB this year too.

Frankly, those numbers remind me a bit of a Juan Pierre type hitter. We'll see if it translates.

I don't believe I've ever seen an Indians catcher gun down 3 consecutive runners. It's not like the runners are a Ryan Garko type....

Puppypalooza is without doubt the dumbest fuckin' promotion I've ever heard of.

I'm used to seeing a few dogs at sporting events, but not of the 4-legged variety.

Meh. Dog ticket money goes to the humane society or the Animal Protective League or something. No issue with it.

Plus, dogs > people and dogs = inflated attendance figure I imagine.

Helluva job by Ubaldo!!

3rd 10K game in his last 4 starts - two of those without a walk!

7 innings allowing just an unearned run in a crucial game - gotta love that.

9,794 announced attendance.

That's now the new official lowest attendance in a Sept/Oct game in Progressive Field history, "beating" the 9,962 from the BAL game this past Tuesday.

Cody Allen getting rocked.

Odd that Smith, as the 8th inning guy, didn't come on instead of him.
