Kluber on the DL

Unread postby dazindiansfanuk » Tue Aug 06, 2013 6:59 pm

Sprained right middle finger.

Unconfirmed reports he hurt it flipping CP the bird last night.

Langwell called up from AAA you'd assume just for tonights game before making way for Salazar tomorrow.

Just said on the TV broadcast that he hurt it on his 3rd to last pitch last night and it's a similar injury to the one that kept Z-Mac out for 6-7 weeks.

They expect Kluber to miss at least 4 weeks.

Is it just me, or do our pitchers tend to have an abnormally high occurrence of finger sprains as opposed to those in other organizations? Not bitching, just speculating that's something the coaching and training staffs should look into.

Sucks for Kluber. And the team.

Well, who the heck's our finger strength pitching coach? He must really stink!

Cheap-ass Dolan won't pay up for a better one.

The Browns have their staph infections, the Indians have this.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

Well, this does end the debate about whether Francona took Kluber out of the game too soon.

Sinker/splitter grip. Very, very hard on the fingers.

Big blow. Salazar's a competent replacement, but they're really going to monitor his innings, which puts a lot of strain on the bullpen.

He should cut the finger off and learn to pitch without it.

Missing part of a finger is probably why Bob Wickman had such a long career.

This will NEVER NOT make me smile and laugh.

Adam Miller simply didn't want it badly enough.

Think of the movement and the 10% decrease in spraining a finger, 100% decrease in spraining the one you cut off.

Win/win.

It still amazes me that this was actually discussed with complete sincerity at one point.

Missing part of a finger is probably why Bob Wickman had such a long career.

What? You mean it wasn't his supreme conditioning??

You guys remember him trying to cover first on a ground ball to the first baseman. Oh my, that was an adventure. The catcher had to come out to the mound to let him recover.
