Ubaldo vs. Fernandez.

Here's another pitcher we have never seen, and we all know what that means. Lets hope we can get him into the stretch and out of his comfort zone. And we see good Ubaldo, not EWww-baldo.

Not only is he a guy we've never seen, but he's also filthy!

Let's hope he has a "shaky rookie night".

Wish we would have been able to trade Cabrera last winter.

Hard to see us having a chance if Jimenez gives up many more. Fernandez is legit.

Way to pick it Asdrubal, you fucking bum. You walk around the batter's box and your shortstop position like you're some kind of superstar, but you suck and the numbers prove it.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

Jose Fernandez was taken six picks after we took Francisco Lindor. Also in that first round, Gerrit Cole, Archie Bradley, Danny Hultzen, Dylan Bundy, Anthony Rendon, Sonny Gray, Javier Baez, George Springer.

What a collection of talent. A lot of these guys already in Triple-A or the Show.

Vintage Jimenez. Slop in the middle of the plate that Stanton just happened to pop up.

At this point, I leave Ubaldo in for 125 pitches regardless. Save the pen for Detroit.

Meanwhile, as Ubaldo scuffles, Danny Salazar is pitching in AAA..... 4 hitless innings with 6K and only 40 pitches so far.

Oh, I'm not denying that fact.

I guess "decent" is a fair assessment. He's straight gotten lucky for the last two months.

Regression finally hitting here. Though Cabrera's a big reason why.

I'd be in favor of this move.

But hey, since ERA is still a relevant statistic, Jimenez's has only gone up .04 runs because three are unearned. Just have to ignore the 3.00 WHIP he's put up so far tonight.

Is there honestly a good reason WHY Cabrera is still out there every night? What is he hitting..... .240? Maybe?

Not to mention he sits in the middle of our order

Maybe it's for his great attitude....or his glove.....wait

I'm getting the same feeling watching Jose Fernandez that I got the first time I watched Danny Salazar. I don't think Salazar is as good as Fernandez, but he's got serious potential.

Watched Fernandez quite a bit this year due to "financial" considerations......on a good hitting team...holy crap!

Malins have some solid youth

I'm salty, but this wasn't a likely win in my eyes.....now they gotta shake it off

Think I might start referring to Jimenez as "White Castle". All Manning ever talks about when Jimenez pitches is a "flat slider".

Apparently Danny Salazar is coming out of the game after five innings in Columbus.

Something to keep an eye on.

Edit: Clippers broadcaster says it was planned.

He's been on a pitch count, but only 52 pitches (40 strikes) needed for his 5 hitless innings - 0BB, 8K - nowhere near his 85-90 pitch limit.

The only baserunner reached on an error at 1B.

Ubaldo with "right shoulder soreness"? Or do we move him to the pen? If so...who gets dropped?

For clarity...I'm not saying Ubaldo is hurt...just that it would be good timing if he were.

Unfortunately, Salazar won't be coming up. Bauer pitched like shit again last night. We're stuck with Jimenez. It'll be fun to watch him go up against Detroit on Wednesday.

Certainly doesn't work in the era where umpires almost never call a high strike. Walks are a bigger issue than hits.

He might be an asshole. Might be a good thing for him to get humbled a bit.

I guess we'll just have to rally for 6 runs in the 9th off the Miami pen.

Not Matt Albers's best effort tonight. He had been throwing the ball pretty well of late.

At least another outing or two like this and it'll be easy to DL/DFA him to bring Pestano back at the end of next week.

Clippers lose their combined no hitter on a bloop single with two outs in the 9th.

Salazar went 5, Guilmet 2, Pestano 1 (2 K), and Rapada was in to close it out.

1) Ubaldo has absolutely no toughness whatsoever. As soon as anything goes wrong, he's done. He can't withstand any adversity. All those outings where he couldn't get past the 5th inning just more displays of his lack of toughness. And he wears his meltdowns on his sleeve. His facial expressions show fear. "Get-me-out-of-the-game" fear. I can't imagine him pitching in a playoff game. He has had some good outings, but seemingly never can withstand a setback in a game.

2) Abysmal Cabrera. His 2 early errors not only cost us 4 runs, I believed they directly led to Ubaldo's meltdown. Had Asdrubal made 2 little league defensive plays, the game is 0-0 and not 4-0 and Ubaldo may not melt down. His fragile confidence remains intact because he has not given up a run. However, Ubaldo never recovered.

That's the story of the game, if you ask me.

Fernanzez is becoming must watch TV for me. Only a handful of guys since a young Dwight Gooden, that if they are on the tube, I'm watchin'.

Electric.

As well as these 3 guys are throwin' (although tonight is toughest by far) this series ain't gonna be easy. Especially if you're gonna give them some gifts.

He has a good back story too

Guy absolutely LOVES being at the field and on the mound....if the Marlins are gonna get good again, it's going to be riding this guys back.

I hope to GAWD he stays on the other side of the league (unless we somehow get him of course)
