Raburn vs. Reynolds

Unread postby bookelly » Sat Jul 27, 2013 12:00 am

Raburns line: .273/.371/.553 with 11 homers and 31 RBI in 161 at-bats.

Reynolds line: too ugly to bother

Considering that Raburn can play 1B and 3B better than Reynolds...why is Reynolds ever in the line-up? Guy is just a black hole of suck right now.

Time to make this change.

Dahmer vs. Gacy. No one is better in that race.

And there are simply guys who are better playing 2-3 times per week than 7 times per week. Raburn looks like that guy. Now, as they head to the stretch maybe you make that play more often, but IMO you'd be better off right now with Aviles at 3B and Raburn taking some Stubbs ABs.

Reynolds can rot forever. I have no problem at all with that.

Also, maybe your move at deadline if for a Seitzer/Blake kind of under the radar, productive corner infielder. Then you have more versatility and don't depelete your bench strength as much.

ETA- Unless you want to go get me Kyle Seeger ;-) ;) you're probably looking at guys like Michael Young and Chase Headley being available.

And neither does much for me I guess.

Raburn can't play 3B. If he could, he'd have gotten reps there when Chisenhall was in Columbus and Reynolds was beginning his downward spiral.

Raburn's doing well in this part-time role. The more guys play, the more they get exposed. Remember when everybody was desperate for Gomes to play everyday? He's 16-for his last-70 with 15 K.

Get Raburn some more ABs in RF or DH if you wish, but he's not going to play 3B.
