Went to watch the game at 4pm (yeah - I'm spoiled), realized I had to wait another hour and started to actually Jones.

DH swore he could see me shaking yesterday because of withdrawal. I was this >< close to playing an old game on MLB Audio.

I love the straight from CF camera so you can really see the pitches. Nice touch at this very nice park.

Not a fan of this straight away center camera in Minny...... not a big lover of the straight on view anyway but, this one seems to be pretty "far back" compared to other straight on cameras (Boston is one I can remember is straight on but much more "zoomed").

Pelfrey looks very sharp. Little surprised. He came off the DL and made two starts before the break, then had eight days off. Figured that would throw him off a bit. Pitchers are such creatures of habit.

One of the best swings of the season for Michael Bourn.

If Jamey Carroll's playing 2B, that's over his head and another run scores. Bad break for Cabrera.

Kazmir looking good.... you have to wonder how many innings he has in his arm this year though.

Only pitched 17 innings combined between MLB and the minors in 2011 and 64 innings last year in independent ball..... now at 90IP for the year, so already surpassed the total from the past two years combined - something to keep an eye on.

I should have known with all the praise Jan Gomes was getting from the announcers that he would just hit a weak grounder.

Asdrubal's playing a stellar game so far, also. Might be time to administer a drug test, and I don't mean steroids.

I can't remember. Have the Indians gotten a fucking #9 hitter out this season?

More bullpen mismanagement from Francona. Not saying Hill gets job done, but he has a better shot than Smith.

Twins played great defense; Indians defense was embarassing. And that was the difference in a close game.

Kazmir opened the door, though, by walking the #9 hitter, who was batting .125 right-handed, with two out in the 6th. An error by Chiz, a dumb throw by Asdrubal, and a bloop single and the score is tied. You just can't walk the #9 hitter - it will come back to screw you in a close game every time.

Francona left Kazmir in to pitch to Mauer and Morneau even though he was over 100 pitches. Obviously Tito has zero confidence in Hill. We desparately need a reliable lefty in the bullpen. Too bad Raffie Perez flamed out and Hagadone and Barnes never arrived.

The one good thing was that Kazmir pitched extremely well overall, and on top of his last 4-5 starts where his ERA is in the low 2's that bodes well for him in the second half.

It looks like pitchers have figured Gomes out. He's been useless at the dish for quite a while, now.

Man this loss hurts.

Fortunately the Tigers lost to KC.

I'm not giving Mauer a "late game 2 out man on third shot" no matter who I've got chuckin' it.

Man, a well pitched game against the Twins needs to be a win.

Neither am I.

But, I'm giving Hill the chance at Morneau AFTER I walk Mauer.

Nice...

Jordan Bastian ‏@MLBastian 17m
Smith said he was instructed to pitch around Mauer in 8th. When he got ahead, 1-2, he changed approach. Just left a hanger over middle.

"To pitch around".

Why not just intentionally walk the guy?

Did they really think Smith was going to get Mauer to chase a bad pitch? Yeah, right. I'd have intentionally walked him and brought in Hill to face Morneau.

Hill has not had a good year, but he's been effective lately, allowing just one run in his last six appearances. And that run was a guy he walked that the next pitcher allowed to score.
