All Star Game 2013

Home Run Derby tonight. Berman announcing makes it un-watchable but I thought I'd start a ASG thread anyway.

Ohhh...and here's Pit Bull...joy to the world!

Sorry but propaganda bullshit to give the MVP to Rivera. All but three pitchers pitched tonight without giving up a run. I'll admit there was no clear cut MVP for this game but to give it to a pitcher doesn't seem right.

AL won - Check
Justin didn't pitch - Check
Kip got a run scoring double - Check

Seems about as good as we could want. And mad props to Leyland for not putting his rival's ace into the game. That man is class...all the way.

/my only regret is that now everyone in the league knows Kip will take yer outside pitches and drive them.

I went to see 'This is the End'. I don't feel like I missed anything.
"Cocaine is a hell of a drug" - Originated from a famous skit in Dave Chappelle's "Chappelle's Show". The skit would portray Rick James, usually high on cocaine, preforming doing crazy and stupid things, such as smacking Charlie Murphy in the face. Rick James would frequently explain away his actions by saying "Cocaine is a hell of a drug".

Been debating seeing it for the last three weeks. Was it any good?

Was as good as it could be last night.

Game was well-played and crisp, moved quickly even with 20+ changes and substitutions. The game is not a farce like an NBA game or Pro Bowl.

The 8th was fantastic and embodied much of why I love baseball. The Rivera entrancce to an empty field was perfect and he had no clue. That was special. Like Parker's throw was special and the '67 starting NL OF was special....

Chris Berman and the HR contest and all the celebrities and schmucks in the softball can rot for all I care, but I enjoy the game itself nearly every year and, Holy Shit, the kids in the game right now..... The game is in very good shape talent-wise.

I enjoyed and I did so with my oldest daughter who will NOT miss a game or a HR contest because it's tradition and with my youngest who is suddenly a big baseball fan (but that still pales to her soccer fandom).

There was another special thing about the 2013 game, Peeks.

It was the last All Star Game that Tim McCarver will announce. :woot:

You got to know what your getting yourself into.
But YES! For the format of a (stupid plot)movie, it has star power and celeb apperances galore, people acting like normal people would act in a situation (not like someone unrealisticly flying or jumping 50 feet), Genuinly likeable characters, a legit ending, and its laugh out loud funny.

I thought I had mixed some bad meds when I swore I heard him quoting Metallica and the Enter Sandman lyrics.

That was frightful.

I've seen the cast and watched Roeper's review, so I've got a pretty good idea of what I'd be getting into.

If it's still at the theaters this weekend, I'll check it out at the matinee price.

If you like excellent visuals, fight scenes and a pretty straight forward plot without being self-indulgent, go see Pacific Rim. I tempered my enthusiasm knowing this movie was not going to be a world changer, but my gosh in terms of being a pure fun action flick it blows away anything that has come along in 10-15 years.

He can announce for years if it keeps Costas out of the booth.

There were rumors that Buck an McCarver would step down this WS and let Vin Scully do it. He works for FOX LA so it's not like he'd have any issues with the contract. This would be an awesome thing and a great way to send Vin off to his retirement. But it's too outside the box I'm sure for the FOX pinhead executives.
