Nice slide by Kip. Never thought I'd say this, but what what a bunt by Reynolds.

Why wouldn't Bohio take 3rd on the throw home. He had to have seen there was no cut.

Then Reynoldsly's bunt is an RBI

Nice swing by Bourn. Now that they have a lead, Kluber should go back out for the 8th. If he lets a man reach then yank him.

Serious question: when was the last time an Indians pitcher went 7 innings?

Let's get a few more here and then give CC Lee the ball for his debut in the 9th.

I don't think we need that starter. Save the ammo for a LOOGY. Mast., Kluber, Zack, The Good Ubaldo, and KaZ make a nice rotation. Esp. with 4 legit backups in Salzar, Bauer, and CarCar waiting. And don't forget the little Cowboy is on his way back.

I'd be down with a trade that involves cash, or that international signing money that was traded last week. Or even Droobs if it's for a major upside pitcher under control for years. But no way in HELL I trade Lindor for anyone but Kershaw.

Sounds good to me. We would need someone to replace Cabrera with though. Aviles isn't a long term solution.

I know it was shaky and Perez-esc but I still think that Cody Allen is the closer of the future for this team. He got into a jam but kept his composure and got out of it. Kid is tough as nails.

It is but....

Kid has actually developed a nice breaking pitch to go with his 97mph. He needs to refine that and may e consider a two seam for movement. But again, drafted and in MLB last season and growing every day it seems.

That bunt was nice, but it's just that he doesn't even make productive outs. So many times he's put into a situation where all he really needs to do is move the guy over...and he whiffs. At this point I'd rather see Rayburn or Giambi than Mark.

The Reynolds bunt was supposed to be a sacrifice that he got lucky on.

Sad to watch this lineup struggle so badly against Bruce Chen and his junkballing, but a win's a win. Kluber was brilliant again outside of the mess he created for himself walking the #8 and #9 hitters in the 5th. I was hoping we'd add on in the 7th or 8th so we could avoid using our key guys in the pen, but unfortunately we didn't. Those guys need the All-Star Break real bad.

boo, my comment was in no way an endorsement of Reynolds. Should have worded it different. I was just surprised that he caught everyone on the field by surprise...and it worked! The only teammate Reynolds is beating in BA is Giambi! Big G has a dozen years on Reynolds...and is only 13 points behind in in BA. Over the previous 10 games Giambi's BA is 3X better than Reynolds (.286 vs .091). Heck, over the season ALL of Giambi's production is better than Reynolds when you compare plate appearances. Reynolds can warm the bench anyday as far as I'm concerned.

Ty Cobb made a nice living laying down infield hits (he was an asshole but he could run fast). I don't fault Reynolds for doing it. In fact, I think it's a vastly underused tactic especially with the shift.

/When yer batting .096 laying a drag bunt may be the best option.

I don't believe he can sustain success just with da gasface.

Probably right. But if the slider/curve/slurve thing he throws gets better and sharper then 97mph up in the zone and that hook that starts up there and falls off the table will buy him a lot of time to develop the tilt/run.

I just like the kid's makeup. Even in a barrel of shit (that he created himself) last night, he didn't lose it. That's impressive. And if he and Kluber are soaking up whatever Callaway is cooking and implementing it that quickly you have to like where it's headed for those guys and for McAllister who was on same path.

Straight 97 is fine if you can locate it on the outside corners or high enough up and in that guys can't get to it. Rafael Betancourt's made a living of straight 92 because he has pinpoint control.

Like Peeks, I like Allen's makeup too. I was upset with the back-to-back 3-2 breaking balls to Kottaras last night, but he'll learn from it.

Very promising arm. Free and easy 97. Just has to keep refining everything. A cutter or a two-seamer wouldn't be bad additions, but I'd rather he refine the three pitches he has now before working on another one.
