Tribe wins 3-0.

Ubaldo solid.... If anyone wanted proof that stats don't mean everything, he's now 7-2 with a 3.13ERA in his last 14 starts..... as a guy who's watched most of those outings, it didn't "feel" that good watching him.

Also, Perez has quietly gone 4-for-4 in saves with 7 scoreless since coming off the DL.

Jimenez gets away with so much hanging shit in the middle of the plate that it's ridiculous. Once he shits out the horseshoe lodged in his ass, he'll hang a 6 ERA for a month.

The White Sox have banged around Verlander in the 8th and lead DET 7-1.

It's crazy that the Tigers are letting the Tribe hang around.

Six shutout innings and he only walked two batters. That's progress. His ERA is down to 4.37 on the season. I'll take it.

It wasn't pretty but he made the big pitches when he needed to. His defense also gave the Jays two more outs on fly balls that should have been caught, so Ubaldo really went 6 2/3.

The Tribe did a nice job of scraping three runs together against a pitcher who was on top of his game. These are the teams we have to beat consistently to hang in there since it's obvious we can't beat teams like Detroit, Boston, and New York.

based on this stat, he's on the cusp...

Ubaldo Jimenez's last 9 starts: 50 IP, 46 H, 45 K, 29 BB, 2.88 ERA

Hopefully he passes that horseshoe sometime in November but past experience states otherwise
Galley Boys are slop on top of a so-so burger and a bun you coulde get from a Covneninet food mart generic pack. They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. Proof that if you throw enough cheap sauce shit on a burger you still can't overcome the lame burger. -JB

His LOB%s for May, June, and July are: 77.8%, 84.1%, 80.9%. ERA by month: 4.23, 3.09, 2.45. FIP by month: 4.01, 4.38, 4.88. League average LOB% for AL starters is 72.4%.

It's rather interesting. Over the last nine starts, as you mentioned, that's a 1.5 WHIP, yet he has a 2.88 ERA. He currently has the highest K/9 of his career (also, a higher BB/9 than even last season). He touched 97 yesterday, something he hasn't done in a long time. Not really sure what to make of all of this. I'm waiting for the bottom to fall out. Had the highest line drive rate and fly ball rate by month this season in June, yet somehow worked around it and a .330 BABIP.

Here's a random stat: Against 225 LHB this season, a 2.84 K/BB ratio. Against 187 RHB, a 1.19 K/BB ratio (38 K to 32 BB).

I will say this, watching him pitch is absolutely excruciating.
