Looks like a pretty significant wave of storms is about to roll through. Good news is all clear after. Better news is that Max might get knocked out by it.

Let's hope this rain knocks Scherzer out of the game!

If it does and Lonnie gets a hit when we get back on the field, then it could lead to a loss for him...... all conjecture at this point.

Scherzer pussed out on that one. He was wasting time on purpose.

Apparently Miggy was yelling at the Tribe dugout about something. He may have thought the Indians were stalling for the rain. Not sure how they could have done that.

I guess they're gonna play a mudder. Game to resume shortly despite the radar showing heavy rain for the next hour or so.

MLB gameday and audio are completely crapped tonight. When the game went to rain delay the audio wasn't playing either feed. When the game resumed Gameday was still showing a delay. Missed ChizKid's two-run hit. Then it died when DEEtroit tied it up. Meanwhile, Gameday keeps stalling and isn't keeping up with the current play. Audio seems to be back but I've gone to CBS game tracker for the picture version. I'll be glad when we move back to OH and we won't have to use MLB audio.

Then again, if the Tribe retakes the lead if I lose the audio, I'll sacrifice. :salute:

Well, Scherzer isn't going to get his first loss, but he can't win it either as we head to bot 8th tied 2-2.

This would be a good time for Reynolds to put his woes behind him with a walk-off blast here.

Some questionable decisions by Francona in the bottom of the 9th..... Chiz not bunting, Santana sitting on the bench.... odd.

Im not concerned about Chiz not bunting. He shouldnt have. He is not a a bunter at all. It just would have been 2 feeble attempts then a swing and miss. He managed it fine. Chiz just didnt execute on trying to pull the ball, which im sure statistically he had a much higher chance of executing successfully than him trying to bunt.

If he can't bunt and he can't hit LHPs, why was he in there at all when you've got Raburn and Santana on the bench?

10th inning defense be damned.... try and win it now should be the mantra - plus, there was always the option of moving AC froom the DH spot.

And then there's who was due up in the 10th for Detroit..... fuck!

Was tht strike zone for Miggy and Piggy as spurious as it sounded? I was watching the graph on CBS sports game tracker and the "balls" were all falling into the strike zone grid. Time for robot umps...

Trust me I get the frustration but bunting was never heralded as one of his skills, so we cant really get to mad about it that he cant do it. I would prob wager raburn wasnt a better option. So Im fine with it. Lonnie for once in his life just didnt roll over on a ball to 2nd :hide:

A couple to Miggy were close, but they've been balls all night - no outside corner whatsoever all night.

Fielder - they were nowhere near.

Asdrubal has become a strikeout machine this year.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

No way is Chiz and his .097 AVG Vs LHPs a better option than Raburn and his .279 AVG Vs LHPs.

Bearing in mind that the decision to let him hit was made with a man on 1B and not 2B.... so, you weren't looking for a roll over when the AB started.

It was a badly managed inning.

Maddening lack of execution.

My question for Francona. Why not Joe Smith in the 9th so you had Perez available for the top of the lineup in the 10th should you get there? Matt Albers is donkey balls in a blender.

Leave your best fucking hitter on deck, yet let Lonnie Chisenhall (against a lefty), Yan Gomes, and Mike Aviles bat in extremely high leverage situations. Still have Raburn sitting on the bench if you need defense. But, no, DH your fucking shortstop, the only other one on the roster, to give him a day off his legs. If he needs a day off, give him a fucking day off.

Use Rich Hill in the 10th against Fielder and Martinez. Who gives a fuck if that only leaves you Guilmet? It only matters IF YOU GET THAT FAR. Need to play to get that far.

Incompetence all around from Francona. Hit and run with Cabrera at the plate, no traction on the basepaths for Bourn. Cabrera swings and misses far too much for that shit.

And sit Swisher tomorrow for standing there and fucking smiling as he got tagged. In the postgame, Francona says "It was a lesson learned." It's a lesson learned in fucking coach pitch. Go fuck yourself.

Sat in pouring rain for 4 fucking hours with annoying fucking Tigers fans behind me that had no idea who anybody on the team was. Fuck you Joe West. Fuck you Terry Francona. And fuck you Tigers fans from Sandusky.

This loss hangs squarely on Tito. Poor in-game management all the way around. Especially with one of you best hitters - a switch hitter at that - riding the pine.

Your going away from my point. I would have pinch hit Raburn for Chisenhall as well if he was going let him hit, but thats not what im talking about. And when I referenced Raburn above I was referencing his bunting ability in comparison to Lonnie not his overall hitting ability vs the left handers.

Im saying that once the decision was made to let Lonnie bat, him bunting was never really a much better option than just letting him swing away especially once Stubbs got to 2nd.

Im not defending all of Titos moves in that inning , I'm just saying I have no problem the decision to not have Lonnie bunt. All the other ones well......

Told you Swisher would wear on you - just like his teammates. All a big smilin' circle jerk in April. Then comes the grind of a season, and just about everyone in the lockeroom is sick and tired of the grinning dope. Talent level aside, give me Paul O'Neill or Albert Belle for 162. Guys that A. And Albert Belle's as big a piece of shit as there ever was, but if I'm in the f'ing foxhole for 162...I don't want Swisher anywhere near me. Don't run out the ball...laugh. Chapman punks than embarrasses you....laugh. Know what gets you respect? A little F'ing HEART. Cockin' around 24/7 - including while your on the job....that ain't makin' you popular ANYWHERE.

The "he's not really all that good" part? 55th among 409 qualified players in wOBA from 2007-2013, 25th among 169 OF in that span. 17th in WAR among the 169 OF in that span. He's pretty good. Down year, one of his two outliers (the other being his season in Chicago).

As for the smiling shit, just who he is. His personality. I don't hold it against him. I'm sure it grates on the team when things are going bad, but you don't really want a team of stiffs either. Normally, I don't mind it. Maybe he had serious anger issues as a kid, and this is how he was instructed to cope with them. Who knows. It pissed me off yesterday and it won't be the last time, but if he starts producing, I won't even notice it.

So the Tigers are 9-3 against us. Miguel Cabrera is on another planet. Scherzer has a perfect record (despite my dislike of pitcher wins, this is impressive after 18 starts), Verlander has been a little up and down, Sanchez has been way too good, Porcello had an out of body experience for five weeks, Hunter is performing way over his head...and they're 3.5 games ahead of us.

Feels like they should be up by at least 7 or 8. And they're not. We keep stepping on our own dick when we get the chance to make up some ground, but the Tigers just keep letting us hang around.

I agree, but I can't help but think that bullpen help is on the way for them at the trade deadline while ours is a fatal flaw that we don't have the ammo to fix. I could see us staying in the wild card mix for a while but I think the Tigers will start pulling away at any time, just too much talent.

Then comes the grind of a season, and just about everyone in the lockeroom is sick and tired of the grinning dope. Talent level aside, give me Paul O'Neill or Albert Belle for 162. Guys that A. Care and B. won't rub nearly every GD teammate he's ever played with the wrong way by season's end.

And of course, he's not really all that good.

I didn't say he stinks - he ain't a middle of the order horse....You calling him "pretty good" meh, I suppose that's about right. If I gotta put up with nonsense, I'd like it to come from someone more thane "pretty good."

This might be fucked up, but I think i'd hate about 50% of the Indians roster if they played for other teams.
