According to tweet by Jim Callis (executive editor of Baseball America)

#Indians, No. 5 overall pick Clint Frazier agree to $3.5 mil. Georgia HS OF was best HS prospect, best bat speed in #mlbdraft, possible CF.

Slot value for the 5th overall pick was $3,787,000.... so they got him just a touch under slot.

According to FRazier's twitter feed he's in Cleveland right now, so wouldn't be a shock to see him on the broadcast tonight.

Might be your last chance to see him in Cleveland.

According to his Twitter feed, he's signing on the dotted line tomorrow so, I expect we'll see him on STO then.

Because he might never make it. Most draft picks don't.

That is a sound and worthwhile argument worthy of further discussion.

Hey, I hope the dude is up here in two or three years and helping this team win games, but history tells me that he probably won't be. The last time the Indians drafted a high-schooler who actually made it to Cleveland was the 2003 draft. That was Aaron Laffey. Forgive me if I don't go ga-ga over Indian draft picks.

I think that Francisco Lindor kid has a pretty good shot at being a drafted high schooler making it to the Show.

I'm as skeptical as anybody about the draft, and I really hate that it costs 3.5M to sign an 18-year-old kid a week or two after his HS graduation, but that's the nature of the draft. It's a long way from where he is to the bigs, but he's a toolsy kid and he's very athletic. Athleticism makes a big deal in if a guy gets to the show or not. This kid's not the Michael Aubreys/Jordan Browns of the world.

The reports on him are very promising. We'll just see how it plays out. It's about time we really hit on one of these OF prospects we draft.

The odds are low that he ever makes the team but it is still positive that they were able to get a high valued prospect signed for a fair figure. (relatively speaking)

Apparently, he hit a home run in his first professional at-bat tonight. Not a bad start to his career.

2 for 4 so far, Word is his triple just missed getting out. Cant imagine a better debut, good for him. Means nothing really right now but good for him. Much better than an 0-4 with 4 k's debut.

If Dolan wasn't so cheap and worried about Super Two, they'd have brought him up already. Clearly the kid has nothing left to learn in the minors.

Don't think someone out there somewhere isn't thinking/suggesting that Frazier could really add a spark to the lineup at this point.

He's played only 62 fewer minor league games than Puig, ya know...
