6/10 Tribe in The Blast Furnace

Unread postby Pabo » Mon Jun 10, 2013 6:08 pm

Gametime temperature expected to be around 96º, but it should only feel like 95º.

Lineups per mlb.com:

Bourn 8
Kipnis 4
Swisher 9
Brantley 7
Santana 3
Reynolds 5
Giambi DH
Gomes 2
Aviles 6
(Kazmir 1)

Andrus 6
Murphy 7
Berkman DH
Beltre 5
Cruz 9
Pierzynski 2
Baker 3
Gentry 8
Profar 4
(Lindblom 1)

I expect the ball will really be carrying well tonight, but only when the Rangers are batting. I predict tonight's first homer will come off the bat of Lance Berkman. We might get ten-run-ruled. Oh, well. Go Tribe!
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

This team changed when Chiz got sent down. Reynolds is lost now.

This will be the series that we look back at later in the season as the one that started our downward spiral.

We were 27-22. We have gone 3 and 10 since then. The easy part of the schedule can't get here fast enough.

The way it has been going, they might need to schedule a meeting at the Perez residence (for the few thousand fans that are still left).

The Summer Browns actually played pretty well tonight. Only gave up 6 runs in 8 innings. I am betting the next two nights will be quite a bit worse.

Hagadone blows. His fastball is straight, he can't control it, and he has no secondary pitch. He'll be sent down to make room for McDonald.

I really think Hagadone is topping out as a AAA guy, just like LaPorta and Marte. Just hope Chisenhall doesn't end up there as well.

Juan Diaz will be sent down to make room for McDonald.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Juan. Easy to do when he's only in town for a day.

So what to do with Hags? Keep trotting him out there to risk a whiplash injury? Or send him down to Columbus to work on his command and secondary pitches?

Or only pitch him in garbage time, of which there seems to be plenty of lately. Does it really matter if we lose 9-3 or 6-3?

They have to try and get him right, I guess. Huntington Park doesn't exactly breed pitching confidence. With Rich Hill shitting the bed, Francona's going to keep using him and hoping that it eventually works out.
