Not the greatest tactition. Gives the fat kid a quick backhand and forgets about him?

Maybe that's because he JUST FUCKING FROZE AND SHATTERED HIS SWORD WITH ONE HAND.... and THEN sent him flying with a halfhearted backhand.

And that one wasn't even armed. The one in the very first episode had an ice looking sword he cut that ranger's head off with.

I think they overreacted personally, he may have been a great babysitter. It's unfair to assume all ice demon/things have nefarious agendas.

Those "Dragonglass" daggers look more like spear tips to me. Or even arrow tips. And yes, it bothered me enormously when fatty left one of the most precious things on the planet laying in the snow. Didn't he play Dungeons and Dragons as a kid? You don't drop your +10 Hp dragon ice dagger Zombie killing device after your first skirmish.

I think he has more then one "dragonglass" weapon. When he found them on the Fist of the First men, there was like a whole satchel of them.

Half of the episodes in the 4th season are going to be like that. There's still lots to happen in the 3rd book.

I don't think a lot of the episodes will be like THAT, but there's still a significant body count to be had from that book. Should be a more eventful season than this one, which was a little slow at times.

What. The. Fuck.

I did not see that coming. And i'm kinda pissed to see them go down at the hands of such treacherous swine. I hope Frey and Bolton get their balls torn off through their asses.

I don't care for that Dario guy. Seems like a douchey, wannabe gallant type jerkoff.

Who get's married next, Cersi and Loras, or Joffery and Margery? Will a pack of raptors show up and eat all the wedding guests? (hopefully Joffery and Cersi feet first)

Joffrey and Margery's wedding is next up, hopefully next episode. But they'll probably save that for next season.

I'm with you on the Dario guy. I think Jorah would like to put a sword in his spine too.

At this point I'm pulling hard for Dany to end up winning the whole damn thing. She is by far the person most equiped to be ruling a kingdom at this point.

When word get's back to Kings Landing about what happened, how long until Tyrion and Sansa set out to Winterfell under the asumption that Sansa is the heir? I hope they get there before Bran and Rickon come back from the dead.

But yeah, that NSYC looking douchebag...I'm not sure I like him at all. I don't trust him any farther than HIKO can throw him, bad knee and all.

Arya is kinda annoying, all she does is whine, demand, and make threats she can't back up. Apparently she's just going to wander around forever since her mom and brother are corpses.

The next episode will probably feature the aftermath of the wedding, Jamie returning to King's Landing, more of the north, and Dany at Yunkai.

She was much cooler in the book up to this point, but I assume that this ordeal has sealed her fate as someone who backs up her threats. I think the show went out of their way to keep her a little more "innocent" up to this point so that when she goes over to the dark side there's a character arc.

Personally, I more prefer the book Arya who's always badass.

Awesome episode. 3rd time I said NFW out loud.

About 2/3 of the way through book 2, still a good read even if I know what's going to happen.

HBO brought out the A Game for that episode.

Awesome, gut-wrenching stuff.

Knew it was coming and it still didn't matter.

Just goes to show, Rob was good, but he was playing Checkers while Tywin was playing Chess.

One more episode and it's gone until next spring.... A lot of boring summer TV until Boardwalk and TWD comeback in the fall.

I assume they'll end this season with cliffhangers per usual. No clue as what it could be. Probably Mance reaching the Wall. I hope to see a lot more of him in the next season, guy is great actor.

My main concern is that after next season the show may decline due to the source material. Most of the people here who have read the books, have me not expecting much from 4/5.

4/5 really aren't that bad, especially when they're combined instead of split up geographically. I think they got a bad rap because they followed book 3 (which as you're seeing, is the strongest one of the series) and because of the long delay associated with them. Especially for the show, when they can cull out some of the more boring stuff.

I had a very bad feeling right as the Wedding scene started. Just the opening shot with Frey in the middle gave me the chills. Hardcore man...hard-fucking-core.

I also think they will feel more inclined to go off-book with the plot, which won't necessarily be a bad thing.

But I said from the beginning they just needed to pull the show through the end of Book 3 and I'd be fine. But that was when no one knew how the show would be received - little chance this puppy gets cancelled anytime soon.

George R.R. Martin scheduled to be on Conan tonight. Should be an interesting interview as Conan is a huge fan of the show.

Recently read an interview with the producers where they already are dropping hints Book 4-5 will be adapted as one season.

Since several characters aren't even in Book 4, yes, yes they will have to do both.

There was so much material that GRRM had to split one book into 2 (Books 4 & 5) yet not enough material to fill more than 10 episodes (whereas Book 3 gets 20 by itself).

Sounds about right. Speaks volumes about how slow 4 & 5 were.

How can you write a giant fucking book without all the damn characters?

Since the Starks and their allies are mostly dead, it would seem the main part of the war is over. I hope there are many revenge killings carried out on the Freys and Bolton. I wouldn't mind seeing Roose get a sword through the neck while Rusty is strapped to his own flaying X.

Stannis is still in play. Whathisname Greyjoy is still in play. Daenerys is SLOWLY making her way. The Wildlings are still marching on the wall. And then there's those ice zombies. The war is not over, and winter is coming (they'll be shooting a lot of future seasons in Iceland).

I meant the Stark/Lannister war. There will be holdouts, but I don't think any of the other factions (Dany being too far away) can put an army on the field to match the Lannisters and Tyrels. I don't know about Dorne, since the show hasn't taken us there yet. I assume they would be loyal to the crown since Cersi's daughter was sent there to marry somebody.

True, the Starks is about done. But all it takes is one of them to pledge to be one of the other competitor's bannermen and they're right back in the mix again.

Which hasn't happened yet and I'm not sure who would (Rickon?), but after No-Head-Ned and the Red Wedding there's no way they suffer the Lannisters to stay on the throne.

This is Spoiler-free as it is purely speculation on my part after a good debate with some GoT fans.

We figure Jamie's story is the villain-to-hero redemption arc and that he'll end up killing Cersei himself as he attempts to restore some sense of dignity to the Lannister name. Bran will forgive Jamie and allow him to live because of the deed and Stark Honor and all that as he becomes the new lord of Winterfell.

The Overarching title of the GoT story is "A Song of Ice and Fire," so you have to figure Dany and Jon are going to hook up at some point.

Stannis . . . I got nothing. Very hard to figure out his story arc. I knew Ned was going to die because the focus of Book 1 did seem to be the passing of the torch to the next generation, I just didn't think they'd kill him in Book 1. I knew Robb was toast halfway through Book 2 when he still hadn't become a POV character, but again, I didn't expect him to bite it as early in the overall story as he did. If I can figure out what Stannis' deal is, I'll figure out where he'll end up at. The problem is he's so tied up with Melisandre it muddies the waters.

Melisandre and Stannis very much are inspired by King Arthur mythology, so they're both probably going to die, but Martin does like to put twists on everything, so we'll see.

Before we write off the Starks.... What about the crippled Stark with the telepathic powers? Or whatever we call it in GOT. It dawns on me I might not have paid close enough attention to any dialogue between him and that goofy looking kid who played Qui-Gon Jinn's stepson in that Love Actually movie.

Might need to review what visions they've had.

Melisandre and Stannis very much are inspired by King Arthur mythology, so they're both probably going to die, but Martin does like to put twists on everything, so we'll see.

I don't see a way that Arya isn't the one that kills Cersei. And with Melisandre's prediction this season, 2 other important characters. Maybe Daenerys.

I'm not sure Melisandre was giving specifics about who she'd kill with the eye color thing. I think she was just saying Arya would end up killing all sorts of people.

Arya will end up killing a few people on her list, but if you're a book reader, you know someone else robs her of the ability to take out one of her targets.

Some random thoughts:
I'm holding to my "Jamie Kills Cersei" prediction. I think it goes back to his "Kingslayer" moment when he took out the king to save the country. He'll end up killing his sister for the greater good -- the bitch is batshit crazy.

Jon Snow has some magic in him.

Bran will end the story as Lord of Winterfell.

Martin was on Conan and said he was having a wonderful conversation with one of the actors at this year's premier who didn't realize he'd already killed his character. By the context I think it means someone who dies in Book 5, but I could be wrong.

One reviewer wrote Arya isn't as badass in the show as she is in the books. I disagree.

That was me, and I don't think it's even close. Arya on the show is mainly ineffectual, but that's subjective, I guess.

I just think of how easily she gets disarmed on the show, how she killed a couple people when the Night's Watch band got attacked but did nothing when that happened on the show, how she slit the guard's throat to escape Harrenhall in the book but had Faceless Dude do it for her in the show.

I understand why they're doing it, to make her more human, to give her a bigger character arc. But it seems to me there's clearly a difference.

EDIT - Tonight's episode... THAT's the Arya I know from the books.

Spartacus, at least the first 2 seasons are like 300 on meth. It's all head slicing and chick bangin', hyper stylized of course.

That stabbing still doesn't make Arya cool or badass. If it wasn't for the Hound, she would be dead.

The scene with Rusty and the sausage was gross, then it turned into "Roots is gonna sue somebody".

Stannis going north is great because it gets him off that stupid rock and back into the fight. Fire And Ice. Tactically speaking, If I was Jon or Sam, I would consider telling the Watch to let all the damn wildlings through, every person you leave, is just another to swell the ranks of the white walkers.

Ygritte is a bitch.

Naw, the first six episodes of Spartacus are garbage. By the end of the first season it's good. Season two continues being really good and season three is FUCK ME great.

GoT is an overly produced attempt at great TV. It sucks. To end this season that lamely.... LOLZ

I didn't even bother with season 3. Season 2 was ok. The story of Gannicus wasn't exactly compelling or interesting. Obvious filler because dude had cancer.

Ironic that said obvious filler made the best character come season 3.

Finale was a huge letdown

I watched all 3 seasons of Spartacus and liked it a lot but i'll take Game of Thrones over it just about any day of the week.
