Bucky Brooks Bullish on Browns

This would be heavenly. Yes, I still have my serious doubts about #2 on his list but I am in agreement with the other points.

This article also makes no mention of the quality depth added by the WRs/offense in regard to Nelson and Bess, and I think that's a huge addition.

Wondering who on the roster lines up with Richardson as that FB though. And if there are any holes in Brooks' list, it's FB and the fact that Cameron has shown very little in terms of acting on all that potential that I agree he has.

But an interesting and optimistic read and one I'm actually somewhat in agreement with.

Now about that defense...

Word is in OTA's the running base (2 WR's) was JC at TE and new guy Kellen not Winslow from the Bears with stone hands lining up as H-back for a 1 back look.

FWIW.

Huge variables to me, besides your boy Weeds, is if T Rich )hurt again already) and JC (hurt again already) can stay healthy enough to contribute.

That TD pass in the Colts game was his most impressive toss of the year. He can make the wow throws, problem is that he follows it up with stoopid throws. I can easily see him throwing for 4000 yards and still not being The Answer.

I see it every year in Detroit.

And I'm getting a sinking feeling that Montario Hardesty will again be the more effective RB.

FB is what it is, they can get effective play out of an unknown if LomBanner knows what it's doing. TE... don't trust JC any further than I can throw him.

I simply cannot believe that all the pieces will fix themselves/come together for the Browns to be a "surprise".

Weeds is the season.

If he develops we could be good, even make the playoffs.

If he is bad, expect 4-12 or 6-10.

I really don't think there are too many other variables in play here.

Now, there are a ton of variables that will determine whether or not Weeds is good. But he is the only question mark that will really matter to this team.

Well with your bad knee, Hiko, you shouldn't throw anybody.

This is what I fully expect will happen mostly because he's a dim bulb.

But it will be better and more entertaining and more dangerous than last year when the dim bulb was put in a broken lamp.

That Bucky Brooks piece contains some of the nuttiest stuff I've ever read. All that "bedrock" and "vertical attack" and "X-factor" talk is a little out there. I read somewhere else on the internet machine that the Browns' defense can "shorten the field." (I'm not even real sure what the hell that means.) Please people, I beg you--don't get too wrapped up in all this mumbo-jumbo. These are still the Browns we're talking about. You remember the Browns, right? I know late May is their time to shine, but in a few short months everyone will be calling for Chud's head and our attention will turn to our position in next spring's draft.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

Considering CHUD has to be better than SHUR...I think the Browns will win a few more games.

I just wish Browns fans in NE Ohio had seen the TRich I saw at Alabama. He was a man among boys in a really tough conference. But he does get hurt a lot. I hope he can get healthy at some point and really show Browns fans how good he can be. And he can be very, very good.

Okay, kicks and giggles time because I want to talk about anything other than Weeden in the Flying J thread.

But if you get a chance check out the Youtube videos out there of Garrett Gilkey, the Browns OL from Chadron State in Nebraska. Ridiculous man against boys situation but if you watch the kid it would not stun me if he's at one of the OG spots when Septemberrolls around or is first man up if starter goes down. 6'6", 325lbs. Monster and an smart, athletic dude too.

Another ginger, sadly, but he can move DTs and he's going to compete every single second.
