...and dust ourselves off edition

Time to forget Boston Tee (Off) Party in the 9th last night and focus on getting back in the win column.

CIN: Leake 4-2, 3.25ERA (1-0, 4.15ERA in 17.1 innings versus Cleveland)
CLE: Jimenez 3-3, 6.04ERA (3-0, 3.09ERA versus Reds)

Indians

Bourn
Kipnis
Cabrera
Swisher
Santana
Reynolds
Brantley
Stubbs
Jimenez

Cincinnati

Choo
Cozart
Votto
Phillips
Bruce
Frazier
Paul
Mesoraco
Leake

That Cincy lineup is brutal with patience and power. I hope Jimenez throws strikes and keeps it down

Per everyone on Twitter, Pestano your closer, Myers rehab shut down due to elbow soreness.

Bumpy ride over the hardest part of our schedule. Not good.

Jordan Bastian ‏@MLBastian 4m
Chatted with Pestano. He & the coaching staff have identified some release point/mechanical issues that likely explain recent drop in velo.

Jordan Bastian ‏@MLBastian 2m
Pestano again stressed that he feels healthy. Has been studying video, noticed he's been hunched over too much, releasing ball too far back.

I'll believe it when I see it. That sounds like a mechanical adjustment because of soreness or injury. It could be a simple case of missing two weeks of action and having trouble finding his release point again, but I'm very skeptical.

Uzbaldo Watch: We should only have to watch this brain-dead piece of excrement about 23 more times after today.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

4 good innings from Ubaldo. Hopefully he can put up another couple of zeros before exiting

That ball hit the effing line. How in God's name does Matt Underwood argue that that's a foul ball?

And Santana just screwed the pooch on that catch and tag.

Santana another miserable day behind the plate. Makes me love Gomes even more
I hope Gomes keeps up the hitting all season and begins to take over permanently behind the dish. Santana should DH/1B

Ubaldo 2 runs thru 6 complete (92 pitches). Despite the leadoff homer to Choo, he has only given up 4 hits total. Does Francona trot him out there for the 7th?

UPDATE:

Jimenez
IP - 7.0
H - 4
R - 2
ER - 2
BB - 4
K - 6
HR - 1
ERA - 5.57

Pitches-strikes: Jimenez, U 108-66

Not a bad day from your number 3 or 4 starter

What's his beef with Swisher? Threw at him twice, then barking at him after Swisher almost made him look like a chump

Right with you on this. No reason for just running past Chapman as Chapman is barking at him.

They the Antoine Joubert of burgers; soft, sloppy, oozing grease and cheap sauce and extremely overrated by a biased fan base. This forum is a joke most of the time, but it's a cess pool every time they lose or go on a bad stretch. Jesus christ. It's 162 games. If you're at the ledge already, save us all the trouble and jump the fuck off.

Another gut check for this team. Time to find out what they're really made of. Can't believe Francona pitched to Votto. If given the choice between Votto and Phillips, I choose Phillips every single time.

Hagadone's not a MLB caliber pitcher. Straight fastball. Can't command the slider. Everything he throws is elevated. I'd rather have Tony Sipp back. And I hate that guy.

Ubaldo wins a few games in a row and he's fixed. He gives up a HR after a tough outing and he's worthless shit. I'ts not "what have you done for me lately?" it's "what have you done for me this inning?" that determines if you are Cy Young or the worst pitcher to ever stroll the mound.

But yeah, I think it's time For Hagadone to look into that culinary academy. Unfortunately.

When Tito and the veterans turn this team back around, we have a legit third starter, and a healthy bullpen, I'll jump on the bandwagon.

After 49 years it's hard not to be skeptical.

Spin, I've been a fan since I was 8 or 9 ~ which was the late 1950s. After 50+ years I still pull for them. I'm not all Pollyanna about it, expecting the playoffs each year. But I cheer for them - and yell my head off at the laptop when they pull stupid shit (I'm lookin' at you Santana...). Still, I follow. The last thing I ever want to be called is a "Pinkhat". *shudder*

When did it change and "true" fans aren't allowed to say anything negative?

I'll still be there like always. I was there when Gabe Paul payed players out of his pocket (freezing my ass off in the old dungeon), and will be there when they win it all. I went to Cavs games during the Stepien era and there were 1500 people there, nobody gave a shit if we went up and sat with Howie for awhile or snuck into the loges.

I aint going anywhere. Even if it looks like I've seen this story before.

Heard the same thing on WKNR after the game yesterday though(everyone was talking about how its time to hit the "panic" button)....Its not like we are losing to horrible teams and some of these games are close and yet people want to hit the reset button already.Cleveland, sometimes you baffle me :gah:

OK then, we seem to be on the same bus! IMO fans who stick with the team during good times and bad are the only ones entitled to complain. I guess it was your "... I'll jump on the bandwagon." comment that had me thinking you cheer only when the team is good. Sorry.
