Idiotic baserunning to end the inning. Tribe picking up right where they left off yesterday, the worst game they've played all season. At least they got a couple runs, in spite of themselves.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors

Kluber in trouble now in the third? Two on, nobody out....

And just like that, 4-6-3 Pitcher's Best Friend and two out.

I see idiotic base running is on display for both teams. Kluber's lucky he only gave up the one run and that Nava went to the Santana school of base running.

Watching the NESN feed and they just put the jinx on Kluber saying that he has only given up 2 hits thru 5.

More idiotic baserunning by the Tribe. At least the guys seemed to be enjoying it in the Indians dugout. Whatever. I wish they would play a little smarter. Hope the Sox don't start hitting flies to left and popups to short, like they did yesterday. If they do, we'll be in trouble.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland

Perez to the DL then. Unlucky for the guy (and explains a lot) but we need something better in the 9th right now.

Time for Smitty to take the role I think

I don't want to be a jerk and add insult to injury to Perez. But he cost us this game! Being a warrior and grinding it out in pain hurt the team. Idk everything that went on but he probably could had left the game a batter or two earlier... whatever, I hope Perez is alright

:gah: I am not going to start a thread tomorrow. If you are all busy on Memorial Day I suggest someone start a thread tonight. Or we just go without...which is kinda pathetic since we're less than a third through this season and like RedDawg said, this is NOT the team we had the last two seasons.

Don't know which part of Perez needs fixing more, his arm or his head.

I believe Perez got a case of Ankielitis. He might be legitimately hurt but it's an injury caused by his head.

I am dissapointed in Francona leaving him in that long also.

Here come the Francona questions.

And if it'd a been Wedge or someone else we didn't like we'd be stringin'him up the tree already.

It's five to F' ing two. Get some effing outs.

Period.

I'm sure whomever was captaining the ship would tell Perez it ain't the greatest idea to fall behind stiffs, and throw down and in to every lefty.

But really, Christ, this ain't on any mangager. Francy didn't get them a three run lead with one inning to play any more than he blew it with his closer. And every puppet in the league goes with the closer all the way there, cause that's what the ultimate by rote management position in sports does.

Again, Mike Scoscia was a genius with his bullpen when they got everyone out. A few years of those guys gettin' knocked around and he's gone from genius to be rumored on the chopping block.

5-2. One inning. Playas play.

One bad inning in one game happens. Perez stunk it up his two previous times out also. 2.2 innings. 5 hits. 7 runs. 3 Hr's and 5 walks.

His head. He was a mental midget basket case last year when he felt he had to say all that crap and he's a mental midget right now. He's self-destructed right in front of our eyes this year numerous times. You've got the blown saves, and how many nearly blown saves.

As expected, Perez goes on the 15 day DL with shoulder soreness. Hagedone back up.

One gas can for another...

Who is the closer? Pestano hasn't exactly been pitching well of late either...

I would imagine it would be Smith 9th, Allen 8th (Hill used for strategic purposes in those 2 innings against left handers and Shaw 7th

I don't think he's ready for it, but Cody Allen. Been effective against both LHB and RHB and has the best pure stuff of anybody left in the pen. I believe Smith is more effective in a matchup/setup role. Neither option is particularly appealing, but Pestano's not healthy either and we can't have a guy throwing 88 mph slop with no command trying to close games.

We could always go with Brett Myers when he gets back! Although, (semi) jokes aside, with the way Kluber has pitched, I'd put Myers back in the pen. It sucks to be paying him that much to relieve, but he's been more effective in a relief role and we need help back there.

Just tendonitis for Perez - so no tear - of the right rotator cuff (shoulder).

Shut down for 5-7 days.
