On behalf of Brown Bag, good luck to Peeker.

Once again the MLB Pick 30 pool lived up to its reputation. Tough competition from top to bottom and even tougher to win a Phase. We have had a string of tiebreakers decide this pool of late. I believe 3 of the past 5 Phases have gone to the tiebreaker.

Congrats to PEEKER who won Phase I. He was sweating bullets, hoping the Brewers bullpen could hold on against the Pirates. To make matters worse, he had to count on K-Rod to record the final out. Your bullpen is really bad when K-Rod is closing as he serves up softball size pitches. However, on this night, he retired Neil Walker on a sharply hit grounder for the final out.

Congrats also to Brown Bag who went 22-8 and was in the clubhouse on Day 37 of this pool. He watched contender after contender fall by the wayside as this pool came to a close. Brown Bag was 15-8 and closed the Phase on a 7-0 run.

Other notables of Phase I include Jpd1224 and Bill Henry who both finished 21-9, one game from the coveted tiebreaker spot. 5 players finished a solid 20-10, keeping them in solid contention for the YTD prize.

The pool will take a small break and a starting date for Phase II will be announced soon.

FINAL STANDINGS for PHASE I will be posted tomorrow morning.

First win in this thing in however many tries. It's a bitch and there are some pretty good players who always seem to be in it every Phase.

Winning 7 in a row to get to 22-8 is ridiculous. Well done, Brown Bag.

Also, huge tip of the cap to Action Boy for updating and detailing this thing each phase. That's a bigger bitch than winning it or contending and he does a terrific job with it. I know I appreciate the amount of time and work he puts in.

The two weeks between phases is too long. We need to fill it with a MLB Pick13 ;-) ;) ;-) ;)

12-2 with the one suspended game is a hell of a job on the tiebreaker, Peeks. Nice work buddy.
