U. Jimenez, 2-2, 6.37ERA
(2-0, 3.06ERA in last 3 starts, 4-7 5.05ERA against Tigers. All 7 losses at Comerica I believe)

J. Verlander, 4-2, 1.55ERA
(2-0 with a 0.86ERA in his last three starts spanning 21 innings; 14-13 with a 4.55ERA in his career against the Tribe)

If both pitchers continue to throw well then Tito will hopefully earn his wage in a tight game

That guy in the photo is Terry, not Tito, and the date is 5/11. They don't play ball in November.

Made Verlander throw a lot of pitches and got a couple of runs..... can't help feeling we might regret not getting that big hit to make it a big inning.

Can Ubaldo get through the first without giving anything back?

BTW - The game is on MLB TV if you get it.

Ever since Ubaldo started wearing his sock pulled up so high you can see white he's been dominant. It's gotta be the socks.

I dont know why anybody throws Giambi anything other than offspeed pitches. He looks like he is cheating so much just to hit fastballs that anything else he will just swing through or pull extremely foul.

Pretty oppo swing from Mega Mark!

Just getting 3 runs off Verlander would've felt like a missed opportunity with the way today's gone.

New career low for Jimenez. How do you reach the majors without being able to keep a runner at first to a short lead?

Are you referring to Peralta stealing 2B?!

Santana couldn't handle it because the ball was in the dirt... so, not sure whether you can criticise Ubaldo..... who knows if Honny would've made it if Santana had been able to make a throw.

That 5th inning could've been a disaster for Ubaldo.... 2Ks on 3-2 counts make it look pretty good, but he was inches away from getting into a whole heap of trouble.

True dat, but isn't a sign of a good pitcher for him to get out of trouble without getting burned rather than collapsing when he gets into trouble? Not saying Ubaldo is "good" yet, but if he keeps this up I'd be willing to call him "evolving".

*****------*****-----*****

BTW, is it Halloween already? Listening to this game I'm wondering if Jimenez is wearing a Verlander mask and Verlander was wearing a Jimenez mask.
