CF Bourn
2B Kipnis
SS Cabrera
DH Swisher
C Santana
1B Reynolds
LF Brantley
RF Stubbs
3B Chisenhall

RHP Kluber

CF Jackson
RF Hunter
3B Cabrera
1B Fielder
DH Martinez
LF Dirks
SS Peralta
C Avila
2B Infante

RHP Scherzer

Gonna be a tough series facing Scherzer and Verlander but, this offense could go either way against guys like that (ie good fastball pitchers around the zone) - either hit a couple of HRs and draw some walks OR get nothing and K 12+ times.

I'd take winning 1 out of 3 in this series right now....... hoping we can pull out a series win though.

Take one of these first two and I like our chances with McAllister against Porcello on Sunday.

Wind blowing out to left tonight. Damp, shitty night to hit. I do love our outfield defense in that big, spacious yard.

Trying not to put too much stake into this series, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was excited.

The Tribe has had good success this year against Cy Young winners, so let's see how they do against a couple of studs like Scherzer and Verlander. It turns out Halladay was hurt when he pitched against us so you can't really count that one, but in a small sample size they've done well against quality starters for some reason.

We have a good record against all 3 hurlers in this series

But the first two we face are pitching extremely well
It's going to be a great series

Good, compact swing from Swisher. He has a tendency to get a little long with that swing. That was short and to the ball.

Somewhat related note, I really hope Swisher does the O-H-I-O if he homers in this series.

Good start..... now it's a big test for Kluber.

This lineup, especially in the middle, is VERY dangerous.

If he can pitch well against these guys it's going to be very difficult for the front office to justify Myers getting back into the rotation.

As a side note the "More is better than less" kid from the AT&T advert pisses me right off!

Kluber mixed pitches well that inning. Established the fastball in. Got a feel for the changeup. The one good cutter to Cabrera and the whatever the hell he punched him out on that left Cabrera totally baffled. Looked like a cutter or a back-up slider that didn't do anything.

Not sure he'll be able to hold up having to use all four of his pitches over a long outing, but we'll see.

I don't get the local commercials, no. Instead, I get a loop of AT&T stupid kids, Burger King dumbass song, Bo Jackson telling everyone he's Bo Jackson (and somehow that relates to 5-hour energy), amazingly irritating freecreditscore.com songs, Josh Hamilton and CJ Wilson advertising Head and Shoulders and Round-up jingles.

Seeing all of those 18 times a night really could drive a guy to violence!

Thank God they dont show commercials when you watch the MLB.com package through your xbox. Its juts a blue screen in between innings. I do miss Ohio commercials though when I used to order the package through Cox cable....Wait till you taste Pierresssss :thumb up:

Ugh. The way the match ups in this series are set up a if we go 1-2 thats a win. Its just 1 3 game series. Its not the end of the world, still 15 more games to go with Detroit after this series.

Hopefully the offense shows up and can make today or tomorrow interesting, never know

We knew Kluber was going to revert to gash. Wish it hadn't been tonight though

Kluber is what he is, an 8th starter. Bring up Bauer. I'd say CarCar, but he's an idiot and that suspension is a death knoll.

Kluber's still a work in progress. Good lineups punish mistakes. He threw up a lot of them tonight.

Hoping to see them with some fight here. Maybe get it down to 8-5 or something. Force the Tigers to use some of their better relievers.

Kluber could be an adequate 5th starter. Hoping for anything more is a waste of time. He'll be strong next time out I'm sure

Why not? Better he pitch like shit when we have two runs than when we score five or six and still lose.

If you're going to get a bad outing, this is the time to do it.

Indians are trying to hack away early in the count on Scherzer because he's so deadly with two strikes. That isn't working either.

I never tire of lazy fly ball outs

How about we make Sherzer throw a few pitches for his outs at least.

Managed four off of Scherzer, granted, three of the runs came via productive outs. Curious to see how they do against Verlander tomorrow. Average velo drop of 2.2 mph for Verlander so far compared to last season. Not that it's changed his success, but something to keep an eye on. Not to mention, his seven starts: MIN x2, NYY, OAK, SEA, KC, HOU. Not exactly the class of the league offensively. 84.7% LOB rate is well above league average and 10% above his career average. Only 1 HR allowed for 0.19 HR/9, career average is 0.78 HR/9.

ERA is 1.55, but SIERA is 3.10 and xFIP is 2.91. Due for a little bit of regression. Of course, regression for him is allowing three runs over seven innings, but we'll need more than that with Ubaldo on the hill.

Unless there's another injury before Pestano gets back, I have to think Albers gets DFA'd to make room on the 25-man.

Trevor Crowe hit a home run tonight for the Astros. Yes, that Trevor Crowe.
Bottom 4th: Cleveland
- J. Kipnis grounded out to shortstop
- A. Cabrera doubled to deep left
- N. Swisher doubled to center, A. Cabrera scored
- J. Giambi doubled to deep right center, N. Swisher to third, N. Swisher out at home
- J. Giambi caught stealing, catcher to third

Good for him. Never had a problem with Crowe. He played hard and ran into some bad luck with injuries.
