5.05 - Michele Bachmann vs. Dennis Kucinich

Unread postby bookelly » Sun May 05, 2013 2:34 am

For our overseas friends...these are our local batshit crazy elected (formerly & current) members of Congress.

No lineups because we're winning without them.

Mike vs Corey

The bats are about as quiet as this board so far today.

Got out of some trouble in the top 6th so now it's time for the bats to come alive.

I really don't like Albers. He's a reliever who cannot throw strikes. What use is that/

60.3% of his career pitches entering today have been strikes. Probably around the average rate for the 5th reliever on any ballclub.

They were due for one of these days. Won the series. Just get back after it against a very solid Oakland team.

In other news, Jamey Carroll is still a phenomenal role player. He's wasted in Minnesota. Needs to be with a contender.

He has walked 5 in less than 8 innings.
A career 1.479 WHIP is dangerous for a reliever, which explains his 4.66 career ERA

He's also spent the bulk of his career in hitter's parks in Baltimore and Boston. That'll drive up anybody's ERA.

He's the 5th or 6th option in the bullpen. He's out there to eat low leverage innings, and frankly, judging by his size, he's eaten a lot of them in his career.

Yeah, he's replaceable. But it's not like he's called upon to do anything special.
